LOL

True, but there is usually some other basis for an expansion. Made me laugh though hehe.

Actually, I think that I am the only one who outwardly stated that I do not generally include unknown people. Most others have stated exactly the opposite and the remaining have offered no explanation of how they do it. I take this track because there were too many times when myself, my wife and often friends had a good time ruined by one or more idiots/12 year olds/ or just plain incompetence.

Sony adding expansions is nothing more than a cash cow; this is the entire reason for paid expansions. That said, they often add useful features as part of those. Some, particularly Velious, Gates and Omens ARE almost entirely geared for high end players, a fair number of whom multi-box on some level. Most of the remaining expansions include content AND features for the community as a whole and that is your reason for others to purchase them. Mapping, Bandolier, Guild Hall, zones and gear all contribute to everyone, not just those who raid on a regular basis or who multibox. You can argue that lots of these features should be added in patches rather than expansions but the point is they are not for the sole benefit of people who are not you.

My dear Cad,
I am sorry for not explaining everything in detail so it would be easier followed as to the interpretation of my meaning. I am not saying that according to the posts here.....bla...bla...bla. I mean my experiences with Multi-boxers fit what you do and how you approach people looking to group with you have been exactly what I have gone through. If that is the case....which is has been 99 percent of the time for me... those experiences is what I am refering to....not the general concensus of the posts here in this thread. I do wish the percentages WERE like what I have read and if they were....I wouldn't be having any issues.

I will make my statements a little more clearer for you and others to understand and comprehend.

I wish when you bought acconts you bought the right to log 1 more toon on online and ALL the toons appeared in the list. So you could mix and match them better, but, also only have 1 name.. as I have 3 and I forget.

I use to play 3 accounts but then they raised the ((bunnies)) price and I had to cancel one.

My 2-boxing started out as a father-daughter gaming experience.

Naturally as my little girl, grew older she started doing other things and her friends aren't into the online games as much anymore.

At first I just cancelled her account...but as the server started dropping in population, groups started getting harder to find...

My questing became real limited in what I could alone, so I reactivated her account and raised a couple different toons on it.

It opened up a whole new game for me.

I still wear the /LFG tag until I get an invite, but if I don't get an invite, the things that I am capable of accomplishing are amazing with two toons vs. just one.

So far, I don't 2-box in a group...but even that might change someday.

I have 5-active accounts. I pay for both of my sons account's. It's a family thing with us. We spend a lot of quality family time EQing.

Most of my grouping (account 1 & 2) is done with them. I do occasionally 2-box and anything beyond that (3-box) is just too difficult and usafe for me or anyone in the zone. If I refuse a group it is most likely because I don't have time to group. If I have less than an hour I won't group. I feel it would not be fair to the group. When I group with anyone other than my sons I won't 2-box. Also because it's just not fair. I am not that good at it. I may have a 2nd character on follow or hanging around for buffs or heals as needed. The one hanging around is usually an Enchanter, Cleric, or Shaman. You figure out the beneifts of that. I also don't 2-box in hot zones if there are a lot of people there.

My eldest son (account 4) has borrowed my Enchanter or Cleric from time to time for the buff or heal purpose. He plays odd hours and can't always get a group. But his preferance is to group, full groups, and to be the leader. He is hoping to become Raid leader of our guild. He is so social what else would he do.

My youngest son and his girlfriend (Accounts 2 & 3) play together and with friends from school. We group every Monday night and on special holidays like Mother's Day, New Year's Eve, and around Christmas time.

Account 5 was created so I could leave the other accounts open for the boys to use. I need someplace to keep my trader on. I just in the past week transfered my 2 main character from Account 2 to Account 5. So now I will be playing Accounts 1 & 5. My youngest and his girlfriend are on 2 & 3 and my eldest is on 4. I think that accounts for all my accounts.

My set-up is 3 computers side-by side and room for a 4th when my eldest son brings his computer over. I had the desk especially built for this purpose. Most often my grouping is within the family. Of course many times I get a phone call from one of my eldest son asking me to join a group they have going.

I used to actively play one account, but that account was wrongfully banned because of the guild bank dupe bug. I started a new account, and I was becoming active again, when school really started to cut deeply into my playing time.

The shammy is sitting around collecting dust now, and it doesn't look like he's going to be dusted off anytime soon, if ever again. Sorry AS folk, but I think I'm done for good this time.

We have 4 active accounts. Wife plays one, I 2 box and the other is bazaar mule, though sometimes wife will 2 box.

If we can fill the group I will drop my alternate character, but if we need a tank, I will two box. Allows me to not worry about waiting around for hours trying to get folks.

Although with the new guild I in, grouping became less of an issue as it is a very active guild. Finally.

I play 4 Accounts with 2 PCs :-)

I have 2 accounts that are active and actively play 10 of those toons, not counting bankers.
In answer to Olrec's post, I don't see boxers as the issue. It certainly isn't for me. I started the 2nd account merely be able to group with SOMEONE. I have all classes but wiz and mag, and have soloed them all about as far as I can, if I didnt box then I probably would have quit. While I have gotten fairly adept at playing all the classes I have, without being in a high end guild I am unable to go after the really nice gear and completing the epic quests are basically impossible to solo also.
2 boxing allows me to group complimentary toons together to complete at least some of the quests out there or to go into zones I wouldn't want to tackle solo. Now if I could get an Ldon as a duo, it would open up a ton of possiblities!
The primary difficulty for me is my time zone, I get on after most are asleep or prior to them getting on in the morning as I am 5 hours after EST. Being a boxer has kept me in the game!

I play two accounts, on one computer without the EQWindows program. On account 1 I have a 65 shaman, 50 bard, 37 mage, 31 monk, 30 cleric, and various lower toons. On account 2 I have a 55 Paladin, 23 enc, and various lower toons.

Often times I wish my cleric/mage were on seperate accounts, but I'm not going to pay to make that happen. Most of the time when I two box it's my shm/pal, with my best friend playing her cleric. I enjoy grouping still, and when someone asks for a group when I'm two boxing, I will invite them if I have over an hour to play.

I am working on getting my enc up to my cleric's level, and when I do that I will most often be 2 boxing them, with my (previously mentioned) friend's bard and ranger (she 2 boxes too).

didn’t realize how many players actually play multiple accounts. I have a few questions for the players that play more than one account. Out off all your toons, what’s your favorite match up you like to play? Do you prefer EQ Windows or two stand alone computers? Also do you really find yourself grouping that much any more?

I play two accounts and by far my favorite matchup is druid with enchanter. I used to use EQwindows until I got a new laptop so now I use two computers and it is so much easier.
For the third question, yes I prefer grouping and usually have two char's on, both LFG with "and/or <insert classname &level>" in the comments window. I like to kill time while LFG by 2boxing for AAs in vxed or HoH.

4-boxer here. Main is a 68 war that drags along a 67 druid, 66 shaman and a 65 enc (or, if no actual cc is needed, a 60 ranger). Current setup is 3 accounts on my "big" box and the druid, all by his lonesome, on the "other" box.

Most of the time, though, I hook up with a couple RL buds who also box and we do 2 toons each. I do War/Shm, friend does Brd/Clr (works very nicely and he has no probs pulling/CC'ing while keeping us all alive) and the last two are War/Dru.

On those hung over days, though, it's nice to just crawl into a corner with your four darlings and not speak to anyone. =P
