I really enjoyed the Kunark expansion. The branches of the trees waved in the wind for the first time. Dragons roamed around the zone rather than a spawn location in a dungeon. Giants in Burning Woods were cool, undead apes and gorillas, huge mosquitoes, epics, Chardok, Karnor's Castle. The list goes on and on. Maybe it was the fact that you could get away from the Old World EQ and adventure to a new land with new types of mobs and quests. And , of course, you gotta love the iksar. I also liked the fact that you could start a level 1 character and actually have places to hunt here (unlike many of the other expansions).
My second favorite would be Velious for the specific faction quests. That was a great addition. The graphics were nice and ToFS was a cool dungeon to gain exp in. The Kromrif Leggings quest was one of my favorite quests to do. The shawl quest gave people a reason to advanced more than one tradeskill for a purpose. It's still a fun quest to do even now although it's harder to find people that will help you. They can't understand why you would do a quest when you could buy better. Questing is what it's all about. Hello? Look at the name of the game.
IMO, the expansions that followed these were added to keep people playing EQ and not moving on to other games.
The expanded bank and shared banks are nice. Beats losing a bag on the ground when twinking your alts.
I also think they should have left Mistmoore, Splitpaw and Cazic Thule alone. Why didn't they just add new zones into the existing game like they did with Jaggedpine? Just imagine, a new zone for free with higher level mobs. That's unspeakable these days. Mistmoore was awesome the way it was.
The game is moving faster now than ever before to keep up with the competition. I'd like to see a new expansion come out with a new race or class. Maybe a dragorn race, that would be awesome. But make the new expansion for all levels and not just for higher levels.
Anyway, those are my opinions and we all know about opinions.
Flame if you wish. Later
