Bah, you wuss...Why back in my day we pounded the FD button...and we LIKED IT!

heh Sorry. I think if you use a gamepad or some other device you need to actually be at the keyboard to be legal. If you are AFK and get caught (how? who knows...) you can be sanctioned.

Any third-party software that alters the EQ code is NOT allowed iirc.

True, but carpal tunnel isn't a mark of progress, it's a serious medical condition. Use a gamepad and watch a movie like I've done for every puppet I've every had. If you never leave the keyboard (and are thus ready to respond if a GM sends you a /tell) you will never, ever get into trouble. Ever. Really.

maby you dont realize that ive made over 4 monks, 2 30+ and 2 50+.

pouding the fd button gets real old, and trust me, im an old school monk on both my 50+ and had to do just that.

so dont call me a wuss, most people wouldnt go outa the way to make other monks for fun, just for those reasons, but yha, after the 3rd monk, getting the same skills up becomes a bit repetitive.

Are you implying other classes do not have tedious skills to raise in this game? Using third party software to play the game for you is a bannable offense. Justify it all you want but it simply is.

Wow....first off having read many of Dot's posts and also having briefly associated with him in game I think you completely missed his "tongue in cheek" approach in his response. Secondly I think the idea being presented is that macro's while present at the keyboard is fine....third party software is not.

I believe there is/was a "third party" program used by Rangers to press the "attack" button over and over (before the new auto ranged attack command).

This was completely sanctioned by SOE.

My friend uses the same program to press the a casting button over and over with a delay to skill up casting skills.

His stance is he is using a sanctioned program to do what it was designed for.. press the same button over and over.

There was a ranger that was suspended for useing a gamepad prior to /autofire. Of course he was /afk and had the gamepad button taped.

Any action that is automated that normally requires the a physical action to do is suspendable/bannable.

PLing has its drawbacks. One most notably is failure to use your class skills to get there. Running around with a damage shield gets you your lvls, but not your skills. Now your asking for another 'shortcut' for skillups...

Pressing /Macrokey FD/Sneak/Hide a couple of hours is better then being suspended for a week and having your toon rolled back.

But then again, a week off is sometimes a Godsend to hardcore EQ players.

ive edited all my messages in hopes to close this fourm, it seems that there are a few players that cannot use a fourm responsibly and take things out of proportion / assume things that are not true.

you ask a simple question and you get flamed for doing it? not so, now maby if i was doing it, fine.

and even then people should be more matture than that, i hate when people assume things.

I never called you a worthless noob. That would imply that I thought you in any way resembled a fully functioning human being with an I.Q. of someone cognizant of his own thoughts and actions. Unfortunatly, based on your posts, I in no way feel that you are capable of rationalization due to a severe mental deficiency and for that I am saddened.

You did not come here seeking advice, you came here seeking affirmation for the decision you had already made. When other users politely pointed out the rules and gave you suggestions on how to circumvent the system you lashed out at them in poorly constructed and badly worded flames.

If you don't care to read opinions differing from your own I suggest you post your questions in notepad and save it to your own desktop. I did make the assumption that you were smarter than the macro you intend to download, and for that I apologize.
