What combines can you use for skillups past 202?

What is the most practical (read CHEAP!) way to proceed? If I need planar drops, I guess I will wait since my fletcher is only level 30...

When I was looking into DoN cultural for Fortis, I saw that condensed ice was used for Ice Tipped Acrylia Arrows.

But they cost time instead of money, since you'd have to farm acrylia and chunks of condensed ice. Fancy another trip to Acrylia Caverns?

That's a possibility. I'd rather 'waste' acrylia on tailoring skillups though Smiley: wink.

Yeah, the Acrylia arrows are probably the best bet - I'd been hoarding acrylia and condensed crap with my ranger for some time.

Condensed shadow can be found off Shades (skellies) in Shadeweavers, along with one of the alien races (Shak Dratha). Condensed flame from Tro Jegs in Scarlet Desert. Not sure where the condensed ice is found.

Tough choice having to use Acrylia for one tradesill when you want to use it for another. You could make Bows but then again you would be using plat when you could use it for something else.

Which bows?

Not that I have unlimited plat, otherwise wasting acrylia would be no concern.

I may have another problem though. Is INT or DEX used as stat for skillups for fletching? DEX I can raise no problem, but INT is a bit harder to increase above my DEX.

This character is a Rogue and my pottery skill-ups have been less than awe inspiring (which I think uses INT). Even though I routinely make stacks of lined poison vials (triv 162), skill is only just now in the 140s.

The game simply takes the highest of your dex, wis, or int to determine your chance for a fletching skillup.

Edit: Here's a good link that describes this and other stats.

Barring Tunarian or Karanian fletching, Acrylia-ice/fire/shadow is still the only method to go with (to get to 268) that doesn't A) cost you a fortune or B) take forever (OOW or DON drops). Still requires a bit of farming since even if you ahve the plat you're not likely to see enough condensed substances for sale. Start clearing the Gor Taku at mid-day game time, wait for the Shak Dratha to spawn, clear them, and either head to AC for a change or clear the caves all over again.

After 268? You're in for painful or long 32 points without access to Tunare or Karana's blessing...

Im not sure what race you are but some of the cultural combines are relativly cheap for skilling up here is a short thread on skillup paths

I'm fletching several types of serrated arrows right now to get my skill up to 227 then I'm turning to acrylia arrows. I had plenty of success but very few skill ups doing the 268 trivial arrows plus you have to smith the shafts first.

The serrated arrowheads will let you make 227 trivial serrated tip type arrows you just have to do the abysmal sea fletching quest first ( takes about an hour but worth it) you wont get any skill ups past 54 but you have to do the quest. See this guy in Abysmal for the quest.Imildu Woodstreak @ -99, 239, 96

After you've done the quest farm chunks of Taelosian rock http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_item.php?item=12770 in natimbi or the bazaar, they drop of mobs in natimbi and return to Imildu Woodstreak (give the rocks to him 1 at a time is what I do but have never tried more)and he will give you back 2 Taelosian stones http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_item.php?item=11749 and each one of those will make 2 serrated arrowheads trivial 188 fletching If I remember right.

After all that you can make the serrated type arrows which are 227 trivial. After thats maxed I think the acrylia type arrows will skill up more often then if at 202.

hope this helps. Good Hunting.

After zoning into Shar Vahl, take a left to the tunnels where the Shaks live. Clear the rooms of all light skinned little guys. IIRC, if you do this during game night time hours they will pop back as dark skinned Shak drathas. You'll need to have someone in another zone tell you what time it is because /time doesnt work in this zone. The dark skinned shaks drop chunks of condensed shadow, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time. Not only will this help with fletching, they sell very well in the bazaar.
