Pros:
More MGB's.
Less time LFG.

Middle Ground:
Bazaar prices dramatically increased or decreased, depending on the item. Both good and bad for traders and buyers.

Cons:
People have fierce allegiance to their native server, and it causes a lot of unneccessary spam.
PoK became laggy again.

Overall:

5/10 - Could have been better, could have been worse.

Sounds like, I'll be looking for a new game anyway, after the months of no groups, bad guilds, it kinda gets to you... are the people from the other server putting down the others?

I haven't seen any prombles on the Rathe since Krana merged. Everyone seems to be getting along fine - very nice to have a full bazaar finally.

It really depends on the population mix. Sure, the high-levels from both servers will probably get more groups together, but there's no guarantee there will be any increase in low/mid-level populations or grouping.

Groups.. that's what I want the most. I like grouping, hate soloing, hate having my trader on the most. my trader get's more action. I hate to leave the game after 4 years, maybe it is time to move on. I just hope the grouping picks up.

There was some trash talk in PoK the first couple of weeks after the merge but it has all died down.
But I think alot of Sol ro people left when the free transfer was available, because there is no longer 200+ in PoK now back to the 150 In the later evening.
I do see alot of people looking for groups and it seems they find them with in a half an hour or so, I get home around 10 pm central anymore so most of my guild is logging off or gone or already grouped up, so I look for pick ups or just solo with one of 5 toons.
To me the game has too many things to do just to rely on grouping since I enjoy exploring, tradeskilling and questing.
I have done a few tasks from the OoW expansion and I get some good xp from those (and you can make your kills while in a group also) I usualy get a full bubbble of xp upon completion of these tasks and ok plat when your higher level, ok sorry I'm getting off track I just wanted to say dont leave the game.

I'm just wondering if this merge was the way to go, with everyone moving to other servers after they merge.

Well, if people are going to other servers after the merge.... and there are overall less servers.... then numbers per server should pickup.

Wish Venril Sathir would merge with someone. Anyone. 90 traders in bazaar, 50 in PoK.... tumbleweed rolls past....

If my server merges some day, that would make my day, im sick of going to some of my old time favorite zones that would be overflowing 3 years ago and now everyone is huddled together in PoK trying to buff to make money, i think Druzzil ro should be combined with a high populated server.

P.S. i miss having to get on a boat with 10 other and wait til we sail to a different continent.

I think the mergers will be good but I don't believe that some zones will ever be as hot as they once were. There are just too many zones to pick from that will offer one thing or another that makes them more desirable. Did zones like Iceclad or Permafrost ever have high pops? I don't remember that happening in either except when a guild hosted a raid.

My server hasn't merged yet but the population has increased a lot. There seems to be a renewed intererest in EQ. I think there are some who are returning from EQ2.

My guess was correct if they return, they tried it and didn't like it. it didn't seem appealing to me at all, almost pathetic. but hopefully our population grows once again!

There are a lot more people looking for groups on BB than before the merger, but there aren't a lot more people who like to put together the groups, leaders so to speak. LFL = looking for leaders.

On drinal, there's more people, but less places to group at and even fewer clerics. Usually there were always 2 groups in each zone, but now it's rare to see less then 30 people in every 60+ zone at prime time.
Since drinal merged with Tarew marr, I haven't been able to get my hands on a cleric to make a group and I've only had invites from friends, so I am now a proud member of the Xegony server. It only took about 36 hours to get all my characters transfered.
I only went to Xegony because they are about to merge and if I don't like the way it is on Xegony, I'll just hop again to another server.

So, so far havent seen any plus's to these server merges just endless char tranfers to find a better server. I fear that there will be to much lag again. I'm perpared to find another game. I dont see it getting better. I'm hoping though....

My merger really stunk. I was on Tallon Zek, a PvP server with race team rules that was home to alot of roleplayers and non-twinks. SOE decided to merge it with ALL the other PvP servers and change the rules. /vomit

Pros:
1.There are more people to group with
2.Powerlevelers don't get away with that crap so easy when they are running for their life

Cons:
1.It is now a cesspool.
2.Every PoK book is camped.
3.Every character is twinked beyond recognition.
4.People get epics and delevel to make PKs easier.
5.85% of the server is ebayed.
6.Five Times more spam.
7.PoK is lagged even more.
8.A billion 10-member guilds.
9.Economy screwed.
10.If you don't have 500k worth of gear on your toon you might as well hang it up. Or move to a bluebie server and drown in powerlevelers.

Another question concerning merge and character moves:
Will players who will "keep" their server name also be allowed to move their characters to another server, or will this service only be available to players who are merged into another server?

Ok listen up. I will only say this one more time. And one more after that. And...

I had toons on Cazic Thule.
On 4/7 Brell Serilis merged with Cazic Thule and is listed as Cazic Thule.
I chose to move after the merger to another server. I was trying to get to Tholuxe Paelis server. At the time of my move Tholuxe was scheduled to merge into The Rathe server. On the 19th they changed the list around. My toon ended up on The Rathe. Wrong place, wrong time. I still want to end up on Tholuxe. On 4/28 Tholuxe Paells merges with Bertoxxulous and will be listed as Bertoxxulous.

I did another /movelog and selected Bertoxxulous (Can't pronounce it). I haven't checked to see if my toons were moved again since the complimentary move is supposedly a one-time deal.

You can only move to the server that is being merged into. Otherwise I would have chosen to merge into Tholuxe and been done with it. Tholuxe was not a choice so I ended up picking the server that at the time was merging with Tholuxe.

If they don't move me this time I guess I will have to petition or apply or somtehing.

They did move my toons. They are happily on the Bertoxxulous server. Now hopefully they won't swithc the merging servers line up again.

My server Antonius Bayle merged with Kane Bayle (on 22 March?).
Mostly, life goes on, since I was already busy with friends and guildmates.

Effects I noted:
POK is laggier but with a little more chance of buying KEI.
Zones really vary and I am still often alone in Felwithe.
I heard people asking /ooc in POK how to do the /movelog but no-one I know has done it (as far as I know!).
I am seeing a lot of new guild names around.
I have earned more money porting high level groups, as a wizard, than before. At least 2 of those groups were from Kane Bayle.
Bazaar prices have more than doubled since early March, although I don't think people are paying them... I guess that means I don't know many plat buyers.

Overall it doesn't change life much for me but I think it's a good thing. Also worth noting: a few people I know have returned from EQ2 as they don't like it as much, and a few have stayed in EQ2. Personally, I have way too much to see & do in Everquest. I love the rich history of Norrath enhanced by the old-time players and big battles. I like the world having an advanced economy, and don't think I could get used to having just 2 cities and the many restrictions I read of in EQ2. Apologies for hijacking - just thought this worth saying.

Hi,

Concerning the one-time move off of a merged server. When you do a /movelog command, do not expect, as I did, that the move will take SOE days or weeks to accomplish. I went from The Tribunal to Povar in less than one day. I was not ready for the move to happen so fast and after killing off several toons to make room (which I expected), I found that my final toon to kill was not visible on the selection list. Ended up renaming another toon to a letter beyond the starting letter of the invisible toon, and the invis pop'ed into view.

There are people you can group with, you can do LDoN's without a dying /lfg strain. Ran into a Raid at POI, and I can't remember the last time I met /anyone/ there. More stuff in the Bazaar, all good. Sometimes an area will have higher lvls than I am used to seeing ( 60 lvls in POJ?), but on the whole the game is alive again. If your idea of a good time is camping PoK, you are going to have a religious experience, a lagging religious experience, with 150-200 people there all the time.

I'm on Tholuxe and we'll be merging with Bertox on Thursday. Do I have to do anything at all beside sit tight and let Sony move my characters(all of whom have been logged in the last two weeks)?
