Can't believe it took this many posts for someone to figure that out.
Although, the functional literacy of so many people in-game does lead you to wonder......

I too agree that this is a GREAT start for SOE !!! However, after reading the posts here I see one very common idea. That is to ban all sellers and buyers. Though this sounds like a great idea to ban exploiters, the thought has occurred to me that if they did....how many peeps would be left to group with LOL. I play on a very old server and most of the pre-50 toon with decked out gear make it no secret how they obtain the type of plat to buy there gear. I fear if they did ban, Norrath might become a lonely place. With that being said, I don't expect them to ban sellers and buyers unless they are advertising it in-game. I might be wrong, but thats my take on it.

On the other hand, how many people might come back to the game? How many people left the game because they were drowning in twinks and ebayers? I just made a new character and couldnt even get out of the TUTORIAL before I was offered plat and twinkage! ROFL

"Is this your first character? Would you like some gear and some plat to help you along? Those spells get expensive!"

"Really, how expensive?"

"Around level 29, they get to be 20 plat or so apiece!"

/sigh
"By level 29, is 20 plat really that hard to come by? Maybe I can suggest some good zones for you to explore"

"LOL I have over XKp and all these chars <insert random boasting and stat-quoting here>"

Being from Morden Rasp I am not sympathetic to Itemstore's cause after all of the spam in the bazaar. I knew he would get caught one day. He was quite a famous plat seller.

I am concerned at the xenophobia and lack of hummanity in all the posters who continually comment on his grammar. He is not a native speaker of English---SO WHAT!!! English is the International language whether you like it or not and everyone has the right to try to express themselves on forums in English without being "flamed".

Native speakers who spell wait "wate" and enjoy "injoy", on the other hand, go ahead and flame them.

While reding through all this, I had a light bulb go off. It was stated that this guy is probably an Asian tha has just learned English. Isn't Yantis somewhere in Asia? Did SOE finally bust one of his goons? Maybe there is a future!

I have sold several pp to some players, I take it for granted that it was legal for I did not understand the game rules and also see some large-scale websites, e.g. “www.i Ge.com” also sell pp. so i do it. If i understand the game rules , i can use the Different EMAIL

LMFAO. He didn't know it was illegal, however, he knew to put a space between the I and the GE so that it would bypass any sites filters that would edit that out.

well that may be but i specifically remember going through the forums and there was a huge thread of people that had been banned and they all had 1 thing in common. they delt with gnomedepot recently. i really wish i could find the thread now but its probably long gone. /shrug

Was this possibly during some of the plat duping/mass plat drop times? I seem to recall GMs trying to track down players transferring large amounts of cash through things like selling fishing grubs for 100kpp or similar things. GMs were taking note of some of these people then investigating/banning anyone they did business with.

Itemstore may have a chance at getting his characters back since soe's stance on selling in game items and plat for real world money is changing. Might not be able to get them back as of now, but after the exchange servers go live, he should be able to argue the point and get them restored. Personally I think the exchange servers will take off in a big way. People continue to buy and sell in game items everyday regardless of the EULA and now their going to be able safely without fear of being ripped off.
