THere are a lot of places you can farm the earn Plat. Farming isn't the most fun thing to do, but you gotta do what ya gotta do to earn some coin. As you didnt list waht class you would be farming with its hard to be really direct about where to go. Farming giants is the old stand by. Geo's in CC is another good one. Let us know what class you are and mabey we can come up with a better answer.

There isn't much you can do that gets you exp and cash simultaneously at that sort of level. The usual answer is to do some sort of farming - ie killing stuff easily that is green to you in sufficient quantity to yield cash.

You may find that there are places like Cobalt Scar where you can get exp and collect Wyvern Hides. Even better for a druid (if you have one) is WW Velium Hounds.

I haven't looked at the bazaar lately so it may not be very healthy any more but wyvern hides used to be 100pp each and VH hides around 1k.

Personally i would take that crew to Sirens Grotto, succor to the Western Wastes side and commence the slaughter. Many gems drop there as well as Molktor Hides that sell for pretty plat (they are used in coldain shawl quest). XP is not bad either. With my 63 ranger, grouped with a couple 55+ guildies, i get about 20% aa in an hour or so.

Few zones offer BOTH loot AND XP, so you will have to sacrifice one for the other.

Golthorn nailed it right on the head. You've got to juggle between exp and money, and Sirens Grotto is an excellent idea for your post-50 characters

Not that this belongs in the "Quest" forum...

But you should be able to take any of those chars and start hitting the boats in Dulak. The exp is good and there are quite a bit of cash, gem and gear drops to get. A few hours with my 53 necro will usually net 3-4 gems from Fire Emeralds to Blue Diamonds, half a dozen "fine steel" value weapons and one or two gear drops from that ship's captain.

I just started doing some Draniks Hollows missions, and although you'll have to split the loot, the drops can be good, gems,Augs and other stuff, and xp to boot.
But I think its fairly slow, no matter what, farmng whatever, looting,I farm stuff by just putting time into it and just plan on not getting xp that day.I think bone chips sell well, so farming those for a few hours a week can bring in some plat.

If you're interested in just getting plat, take one of them to Sol A. The gobbies are numerous, drop gold and FS weapons that sell good. There are a few drops there that may fetch some plat in the bazaar as well.

best part is, if your faction in good, you can sell and bank @ the gnomes, never having to zone.

I could easily bank 100+pp an hour just by killing an looting

IMHO, if you're intrested in getting plat, do this:

1. Choose one charater that you want to play.
2. Find a friendly Necromancer - be it guildie or friend or someone you trust.
3. Offer to allow them to Sacrifice your other characters down to level 46ish for a portion of the Essence Emeralds.
4. Put the several stacks of Essence Emeralds in the Bazaar for 60%-75% of the lowest seller.

I sold 83 EEs in one night at 275pp each (that's 22875pp). Yea, nice chunk of change. Those 83 EEs all came from a friend's expired account with a lvl 54, exclusively. That will allow you TWO things: one, you'll concentrate on that one character, thus leveling him/her faster and two, provide you with a nice piece of working capital to outfit said charater.

Of course, that's just my opinion. ;)

I would ignore the posts about bone chips or gobbies (banking 100+ pp an hour)... there are much better ways of making money. Most are already listed here. Quad-kiting hill giants with that druid of yours can put 600-1000pp per hour in your bank, depending on how much mana you have. Uncreative and no xp to speak of, but there are other good suggestions listed above.

Hunt for pelts: bear, cat, wolf, wyvern, rockhopper, anything that can drop a hide, kill it.
Make leather padding from the low quality ones, sell all the rest for just under the regular bazaar price.
I sell all the pelts I have every day, with flawless and superb rockhopper hides being my best source of cash.
Mons Letalis has been good to me for rockhopper hides, if you're NOT KOS to the Shik'nar and can handle the occassional Stonegrabber add, it's an excellent uncontested area to hunt.
Also, if you can forage, the Taelosian Tea and related vegetation in Gates of Discord zones is selling for a fortune in the bazaar.
But pelts are where it's at. (for me)

Well, how about doing DoN missions for cash? Missions take about 1 hour for 33 crystals minimum. Lowest crystal I've seen was selling for 400pp on Lanys. Say you do 3 missions a night at 13,000 pp per mission = 40K. A few nights of that and you are all set.

I often take my 54 druid to Mountains Of Rathe and farm giants. i can kill about 3-4 at a time by rooting and dotting with breath of ro and winged death and just wait. its a good way to save mana and get alot of cash at a time i make about 800pp-1kpp per hour.
#15 Apr 19 2005 at 10:07 PM Rating: Decent
Everyone says to go to Rathe Mtns and kill HGs. The problem is (even with lower server populations) that HGs are still camped 24/7 (at least on my server).

If I may be so bold as to jump in on this thread..

I am level 20 now, about halfway to 21.. and have just been grinding xp and paludal caverns, not going in too deep, just hanging near the zone and killing stuff. It sucks that I have to go all the way to the Bazaar to recast SoW ever 40 mins or so. Thats on reason I dont go too far in.

Anyway, where would be a good place for a level 20 toon to farm some plat. I assume I should probably have graduated beyond the 5pp-per-drop gobbies in BB, no? They are green to me levels ago.

I see a lot of stuff in the Bazaar, that, gee, I should would like to have. :-)

And I don't mind grinding it out for plat, I don't mind putting in the work, I do it all the time. Just wonder where a 20 can do it safely, and where it's reasonable efficient. I wouldn't mind 5pp per drop kills, which is what the gobbies in BB are, but they just down spawn fast enough. Something just like that but more of a TRA would be cool.

Couple of suggestions:

To the original poster: if you like to solo with your druid, I would suggest the Temple in Nadox. Simply zone into Nadox and click on your succor. There are roughly 10 mobs there, and they are all single pullable. If you like kiting, it is tight, but doable there. Personally I like to root/rot. Loot is about 1kpp in gems & weapons & cash per hour. There are also two named that spawn there that drop decent stuff (a nice druid item, a ranger item, and the Charm of Deception which is pretty nice). And they don't summon :D. They do break root occasionally, so a clicky root is good. This will give you nice xp up until the late 50s, and good cash.

If you like to group, I would suggest Dulaks, like the poster above mentioned. Good gem drops, and there are a number of named in that small area.

Seafury cyclops used to be $$ but that was when human TSing was more popular.

To the level 20 guy asking: Depending on how you are geared, you may want to take a look at EK or king xorbb's gorge (they renamed it and I am blanking if that is the old or new name). In EK the crag spiders should be good loot & xp (Spider silks are still $$ though not like they once were). In the gorge, take a look at killing the Eyes. They can fear, but they drop decent lowbie gems and gear. Just have a lot of bag space. It is also a fairly short run to Rivervale (if you are not KOS there).

Anyways, those are my suggestions, if you are looking to solo or are just looking for quieter spots where you don't fight groups.

I personally take my 68 drood to the tizmak caves in GD and farm the velium weps. i usually DC charm a pet just for fun and mana savings. go thru and kill everything even if they dont hole a wep the next pop they might. only loot the weps and leave the rest and make sure you have a bunch of 10 slot bags. you'll have to convert the weps to bricks and small pieces but they sell nicely in bazaar. in about an hour i usually have enough weps that when converted yield @3-4 stacks of small pieces of velium plus you get 1 small brick per wep. i sell the small pieces in bazaar for 30pp each which is quite a bit lower than most. 1800-2400pp in an hour isnt bad imo.

Lots of good options here. Another one I like to use is farming acrylia at the Sammy camp in DSP near the entrance to naidens eye. and Rockhoppers in the caves to the west of the neth lair zl. I farm them for trade skills, (HM backpacks, acrylia studded/reinforced armor are my main sources of income), still, even if you are not tradeskilling the hides and ore sell very nicely in the baz. You can start on the sambata camp around 40 if you are soloing and a little higher for the caves where the hoppers spawn. My 54 sk hunts them all the time with little trouble.

One thing, in the caves you have to kill the Sambata Tribal leader if the sammys are up in order to get the Rockhoppers to pop. Once you kill him, invis quick as the remaining sambatas will vanish and the hoppers will soon spawn to take their place.

All sizes of the ore drop in the outside camp and some also drops in the caves off the sammys but it seems with less frequency. All qualities of hides drop as well with a fair number of them flawless and superb.
