I just started playing with the free trial about a month and a half ago. I'm a druid at lvl 31 now (why is that so easy BTW?). Recently, Ive had a lot of folks saying I'm 'all twinked out' or some such. What exactly does that mean?
At first I thought it meant you had alot of buffs, or you had some enhanced gear, but now I'm thinking some of these guys saying this about my char mean I used another higher lvl char to buy all my stuff. Anyhow, just curious what the heck this phrase actually means.

BTW its fast a lot of the times because so many exp spots are open and there are zone experience modifiers that help, but I'd have to say the number one reason would be because gear is a lot easier to obtain.
As for twinking, it means that you on a higher level alt spent money or time to farm items or cash to equip your younger alt with better if not best stuff. It is a major factor in older servers because of economies and the fact that almost everyone has a higher level character. on servers like morden rasp and the such where bazaar prices are double/triple/quadruple/infinite twinking is much harder to do and thus you see less there(it also is because more people who just started playing are there or are starting over and thus dont have the means.).
Its still very aparent on the newer servers though. Theres really no harm in it untill you get smart assed about it and start showing off to everyone you meet at level 10.

It might also be gear given by another player just to complete the picture.
Often it means "You have better gear than me and I hate you for it" and has nothing to do with where the gear came from. People are always very ready to make up for their own inadequacies by accusing others of such things.
I've had people assume by beastlord on MR is twinked simply because he has a haste item. The concept of earning gear seems alien to many.

i have a level 13 ranger on a diff server with a haste item, centi shortsword and a kylong war helm, i've been accused of twinkage many times, but all my gear on him is from spiderling farming (i'm very guilty of twinks on my main server)

On my server, twinkage is the rule, not the exception. You're not considered "twinked" unless you're wearing at least a Fungi BP.

But arent you on PvP? kinda hard NOT to twink when it means life or death isnt it?
Well, yeah, hence the point. =p It's more of a "Twink or get absolutley ganked every time you step out of PoK" kind of thing.
I thought they made PoK a war zone now?
No, they haven't, although I think they were supposed to. PoK, PoT, Nexus and Bazaar are all still safe zones at the moment, although I really doubt that Bazaar will ever be turned into a PvP zone (Gank the trader mule! Gank the trader mule!)

I wouldnt mind seeing 40 corpses neatly stacked at the bank trader posts(Its time to play EXTREME bazaar mules!).
Still sounds kinda fooked up that they even planned to make hub zones PK, say goodbye to grouping up before a raid.

Twinked is having gear that you could not reasonably get by yourself, group or raid for your level.
When it was still relatively expensive to twink folks, ie before the bazzar, I used to recite the following just to have folks angry or laugh. I would always state in ooc "what you are about to here is not biographical"

I do have alot of pretty good stuff, I think, for my level, still have some of my moss toe armor though, heh.
Most of my really good items I bought in the bazaar from money I made, well, in the bazaar (and a bunch from Unrest too). Right now I have a Mantle of Distraction, a Large Smoothmetal Torque, Matted Fur Cloak along with a bunch of spell enhancement items.
The funny thing is, I get the most remarks from my Velium Great Staff which I bought from a merchant for about 20 platinum (I've seen em in the bazaar for less than 5 platinum since then).
I do feel a bit cheap buying most of my stuff, however, as a druid I rarely make it to a corpse before it gets looted when I'm in a group so I wasn't getting anything decent til I started hitting the bazaar.

yeah, i started a warrior on tallon zek and at lvl 14 with my newb quest gear i got pwned by a lvl to rogue with UB3R gear, there wasn't even any provocation, bastages

Twinking is fun (non PvP of course)
If I can farm a black alloy medallion or some other junk loot with my main then dammit I am going to give it to an alt rather than put it on a trader for someone else to twink their baby toons.

I love twinks, it makes the entire groups job much easier. I dont love twinks who go around

I use the same gear with a few of my alts. I just make it a point to go to PoK before I log off and dump my gear in the bank in case I need it with my alt. Kinda like recycling. Saves on money too.
