Yeah, they had posted thet there was going to be a 3 hour downtime yesterday, which was revised to 7 hours sometime last night.

Here is the detailed information on this update from EQLive:

Upcoming for August 2004
We have an update tentatively scheduled for early August. You can look forward to seeing;

PVP Changes for the PVP servers.

And many other exciting changes. Stay tuned.

Brenlo the Updated

That's a lot of intricate detail there: pvp changes to the pvp servers, other changes to other things. Good to know. Yeah, good to know.

Hehe, you know, sometimes you just feel sorry for the coders at SOE. Here is the current info on EQLive - and I'm not joking:

March 2nd, 2004 at 3:00 am PST (UTC/GMT -8 hours), Brief server maintenance on all EverQuest servers. Only the following zones will be affected:

Plane of Time B and Western Wastes

Estimated downtime is expected to be no more than 1 hour.

Holy cow, where did they find this one? I think this is going to be a very amusing day!

Darn... well, I think I better skip Dalnir then Smiley: frown hunted there last week, but was only lvl 22, so it was too tough...

apart from my that, I think it's a good idea to change the hotspots once in a while.

Woot! We are within one month of being current now! By the time the patch is over, they will have it caught up for sure :)

Are you sure it's August, couldn't it be July or March or some other month in SOE's world. Their website says things like "you're in our world now" so maybe time acts somewhat differently there.

Reminds me of the book "Timeline" with SOE sending the web servers back to March and teams of techies fighting to bring them back before the patch finishes and the time portal closes.
