Delightful Orb of Forgotten Magic..they run about 5-7k on my server.
They do have a level restriction of 60 I think..but hey once you get about 30ish...you hardly melee ever again.

Depending on your current level and amount of friends you could pick up a Wand of Musing off of Servitor of Luclin.
Easy fight for a group of 65s, or 2 of 55-65. When you pull him, pull him outside his room and have your baby enc camped there. (Easy to invis right to the safe spot near his room). He can also drop a decent mask.
If the nodrop isn't your thing.../shrug, can't think of much right now...been ages since I went shopping for enc primaries.

I assume that you are a low level chanter in that I don't think I have ever been in combat with my 57 chanter since hitting level 20. There are a lot of good stat enhancing items that go in the primary & secondary slots that you will want more than a weapon.
My chanter predates the newbie armor quests, but seem to remember that you get either a 1 hb or 2 hb staff weapon as final quest.

Your best bet is just searching for enchanter usable 1hbs in the bazaar with a desirable stat. You will only be able to significantly damage mobs until 15 or so with weapons, and after that the only reason you enter melee range is skillups in defense and such.

Yes, my enchanter is at LVL 16. Thanks for the help, I definitely have some direction to go in now.
