LDoN point systemFollow

#1 Jul 27 2004 at 9:38 PM Rating: Decent
I've been going on LDoN adventure since lvl 24 with 2 friends of mine and each time they receive 2 points while I only get 1. I thought it might be because of my lvl so i got myself to 29 and went again and still got just 1. How does the point system work? How long am I gonna keep getting a pitiful 1 point? Please explain !!!

To be honest I would not even consider doing ldon till at the very least the mid 50's preferrably 60's the points are pitiful until then. As you get higher in level the points increase dramatically.

The points will start going up as you go along, but it is real low. I have over 300 LDONs with my characters, and while my 57 chanter is getting 18 to 20 for normal and 25 plus for hard, I think I got around 10 the other day for my 46 clc.

Note that points always follow levels, on a recent LDON I got 18 as did someone else my level, someone higher got 20 and those a couple levels lower got 15 or 16.

I would disagree somewhat with Vovin about waiting on LDONs, while it is true that you won't get much in the way of points which limits the items you can purchase from LDON vendors, going earlier will give you shots at Augs & item drops.

All of my LDON characters have at least one LDON drop item, and they are generally superior to anything you will get at your level on your own - except through purchase at bazaar.

You also get exp (though not as much) and the charm point total is real low, which lets you attach the adv stone and get enhancements through wins. My chanter had maxed out BB wins before hitting level 45, but Vovin is correct in that total points were not real high.

I'm not sure about the waiting until 50's and 60's to do LDoNs comment. Many people swear by them for experience from 25-50. It's all a matter of preference, but if you like to group and make some pocket cash they can be your cup of tea.

Just don't expect points before the high-40s or -50s. As you've experienced, they suck at lower levels.

I will swear by LDoN exp. When you get to 20 its great exp...and its great all the way into your late 40's. I would recommend starting LDoNs as soon as possible and worry about the points later down the road. Once you get in the 50's and 60's the points add up so fast that its no problem to get any item you want.

My cleric started LDoN the night she dinged 20 and until about 25 she raised 1 lvl every 2 or 3 normal victories . At 35 now she needs 3-4 normal or 2-3 hard victories for a raise - its a pity so few people (at least on MR) have the guts to play hard LDoNs...

While its true the adventure points are very low when you're a lower level, like others pointed out the xp can be amazing, plus you get great loot and potential augments. When you get higher the points do go up but the xp starts to really drag. In the higher levels working with reg xp you're lucky to get 5% an adv. I would say, use the advs more for xp and potential loot in your lower lvls, as well as mastering your role in a group and think about the points later on. If you keep doing advs you can grab many augs which will help your stats immensly. Hey no one can complain about free stats lol

Just wanted to say thanks for answering my question. At least I know how most things work now and that in my lvl 40's or so i'll get some fair points =)

Just a quick follow up to my earlier post on this subject - my chanter did a hard LDON last night and got 28 points at 57 compared to 25 for a hard at 56.

This may vary based upon group levels as well, but thought I would pass it on.
