I was on EB games looking to see how much it will cost me to get all of the EQ expansions, when I saw that this great bundle pack is coming out. I want to know if this is the best approach to getting into the EQ world at last.It looks like it will cost 30 bucks. I have this old EQ Trilogy pack bundle, and I am downloading the stuff for the expansions, and with my connection it's gonna take 3 full days before the download of those patches will be complete. Who else plans on getting Platinum out there? And if I cancelled the download of these patches, would it be faster and I would get all the same things from Platinum, or am I still gonna have to download the patches when I get Platinum? Thank you, and hope to see some of you real soon in the game :)
Anyone starting EQ now would be foolish not to buy the platinum collection. I'm not sure how the installation works, however; you may need to reinstall the entire thing and re-patch. Or, the disks may be setup so that it will recognize which expansions you already have (less likely)and just install what you need. Either way, its the cheapest way to go.
If you go ahead with the download before purchasing platinum, you are putting the cart before the horse. You will still need to have the discs and will have spent countless hours in download needlessly.
After you install from the discs you will still need to update from the patcher online but the download will be MUCH smaller, and will consist only of the latest patches and changes not included on the discs.
Do yourself and your phone line a big favor and hold on till you can pick up the package on the 27th!

I have also looked into buying EQ Platinum. It should be out on 7/27/04, in think :P I think it is a great deal for onl $30. Some of the other expantions by themselves are $20! I think it is one of the deast deals for anone needing +4 expations. Later
What's included in platinm? Is it up to GoD?
