Somebody said they thought there was a quest that allows paladins to get a pet? Does anyone know the name of it? Is it like the horse quest, which is only single charge?

Look up the gnoll slayer in the equipment section. The second version of the gnoll slayer has companion spirit as a clickie, and I believe it's single charge, or at most just a few charges of it.
Maybe something to do sometime for kicks... Since Companion Spirit is a spell, are there potions you can buy just like you buy Gate potions?
No, the only other item with companion spirit is a shaman only item... but if yuo're a shaman you can cast companion spirit.
Look up 10 dose in the equipment search, that should give you a list of most of the potions available, there are some that are very handy.
*edit- scratch that, it doesn't give a complete list. Try searching under 5 dose as well if you want to try though.
