Just a quick note, for those as Samft, but who actually carry out what he says :
The immoral, unprincipaled, thieving cowards do exist in the bazaar, and one is named Astrika on my server.
They will exploit any weakness in other players and the 'system' - the operational laws as laid down by Sony in the functional behavior of the bazaar. As such, they say "if it can be done, fine. If you make a mistake, and I profit from it, it is your loss. If you ask to correct a mistake - you are just a dumb bunny. Good riddance!"
In my particuliar instance, the perputuator was a coward as she never responded to my very polite entree's to correct a mistake I made placing an item in my trader bag I never ment to sell. She was a thief when she finally sold it one week later, finally responding : "you should ask the person I sold it to to sell it back to you". This is life in the bazaar. Some fantastic people in the bazaar on my server : Moonunit, Sahn (forget your traders name!) some bad, and a lot of good hard workers. And the thiefs and cowards. At least if you are going to steal, admit it. Do not hide, and do not try to justify it.
For Samft : I read you second post, and thank you for it, as you state you did not actually do the price rigging you presented as an option. As much as each player seems to say the game is 'just a game - it is not real life', it is my observation, and I say again, in my observation : we bring our ethics and principal into Everquest. Particuliary in the Bazaar where greed and short term profit is a goal. Those who will exploit the system is one thing; those who exploit individuals and simple mistakes, are another. Those who exploit individuals and mistakes, and justify it, I do not want to meet in real-life, as they probably do the same.
My bottom line : if selling in the bazaar, bring your ethics, your true ethics, to the bazaar. Help the newbies and the experienced. Do not exploit my weakness, my mistakes, my good faith, or others. Rather enable and bring to the plate a goodness that we do not see in the corporate marketted greedy world we deal with each day.
And remember one subtle thing : many of the players are very young. These are the sons and even daughters of mothers I call friends on the servers I play on. You, and I, do not know this. But they interact with us, with our characters, with how we play the 'game', be it in groups helping, or in the bazaar thieving.
And we know, most who post here being adults, how very quick they learn and extrapolate what they see.
