Well I bought EQ, but I have a huge problem. I don't know what I want to be. I want a class that can make money, im thinking maybe a melee class, but they seem to suck up money with their weapons and armor. Could anybody tell me what the best choice would be for a newb. I don't know if I want to be a warrior, though...So don't say warrior, please...heh.

Thanks for yer input...

The soloing classes are the best money makers. As you're a newb, why not try a druid? Good class to learn the ropes. Don't make a warrior - would have to be the worst moneymakers in the game hehe.

Generally, spell casters are not as gear-dependent as a melee class...just as long as you have spells, you're effective (and spells are cheap until you get up into the 60's).

So, even butt naked, you could effectively kill mobs for cash, without dumping money into better gear.

In addition, Druids are considered one of the best classes to solo in the game, so you could learn the ropes for the first 5 or 10 levels all alone if you chose to.

Oh, Druids can solo. Hmm, usually only hear that BST's and NEC's can solo. Hehe. Are Druids good for raiding, btw? I just bought LDoN yesterday :D

You'll have a while before worrying about raids, but yes, druids are good for raids

How times have changed lol

in my early days it was druids and maybe necros for soloing Smiley: grin

I wouldn't worry about making money, you can make more money via the bazaar in a night that you will soloing a druis or any other class to level 50.

if you hunt the right things you can make pp from tradeskill items like pelts and silks while you are leveling.

take any class:
Hunt spiderlings and skeles in Innothule swamp for levels 2-6 keeping all spiderling silks and bone chips

Hunt spiders, bears and wolves in the commons from 6-12.

hunt spiders in North ro 12-15

Hunt spiders in South ro 15-20

Hunt Carrion spiders in East Karana's from 20-24

Hunt Crag spiders in East Karana's from 24-29.

if you do this you can easily make 10k in those 30 levels which i assure you is 10x more than the loot you can get.

The moneymaker i first had was a ranger , i mean they r not bad fighters and i made tons off just arrows selling bazaar its amazing how high level people will pay lots for not too high level arrows .... But whenever i make a character i hunt in north qeynos up untill level 5 . The loot there is great for a low leveled person Nearly every large rat i killed dropped a plauged rat tail and if you are human that sells for 1.7 plat. Also snakes skells etc drop items worth plat and gold very often.. Hope this helps.
