Funny little quirk here with the zoning pets.
While soloing skellys in Kurns Tower last night I had a few adds and proceeded to sacrifice pet while running like hell to the zone line. Pet had some nice armor, summoned gear, etc... and was doing a good job with the adds but was soon going to bite pet dust.
Anywho, hit the zone line and pet was instantly teleported outside with me which was a pleasant surprise. Guess I figured that the pet was too far away and SOE would have a distance limit.
O well. Saved me about 30 plat of No Rent gear for my pet! I am not complaning at all.
Anyone else have this pleasant surprise?

Sort of...I was in a LDoN dungeon and my pet got lost...he was waiting for me outside when I zoned.
Surprising? That's how it should work. You zone, pet zones, regardless. It's not like you die or go LD and the pet proceeds to fight on its own. Makes for great escape techniques (as you've found).

I was a bit sceptical first, but I went LD yesterday, logged back in, and there was pet... incl. his Hand of Ixiblat. nice one

Yes I had the same thing happen to me in Kar Castle, I got 3 adds when my chanter was LOM and yelled Train to zone (no one there fortunately) leaving my pet behind since we have no control over them. He was almost dead when I hit the zone line, but there he was when I came out.
I did a BB LDON with him later, and had NP zoning in or moving about (even though it was the sucky cavern with rats & bats) and was still with me until I logged.

The pet zones when you do even if you leave him behind and run to the zone. Also if you go LD or log out, so long as you log back in within 30 minutes your pet will be there. I don't see any reason why temp wouldn't stick on any level pet since it has no level requirement. I have only buffed higher level pets with virtue, so I never tried it myself.
