LDoN TroublesFollow

#1 Jul 16 2004 at 10:53 AM Rating: Decent
Morning all ....

I'm a well equipt Rogue (27th Level) and I cannot find a dugeon crawl to save my life. The expansion is worthless to me so far as it seems to be only the higher levels making use of this. I'd try bringing my own group but with my limited play time I am not guilded. Any suggestions? I am alose looking for recommedations on The Rathe for a good guild looking for lower level members.

Drop me a line and tell me what you think!

Have you established a bad reputation? Is your playtime out of the normal for your server? I have the best luck finding LDoNs in Butcherblock. Make sure you are using your LFG tool. I've found that reputation seems to matter as a Rogue. I had a hell of a time finding LDoNs when I first started. After a couple dozen it usually only takes 5-10 min of logging on to get an invite, even when I don't have the LFG tool up.

I probably have NO reputation as I am just back after a 2-3yr hiatus. That could be the issue. I play between 9pm and 12pm MST usually. I just find it very, very rare to even see anyone my level as I tour the camps.

LFG is always on :)

I think you've already figured out what you need to do - find a nice family style guild willing to take lower levels.

LDoN's do not give significant points until post lvl 50, so many people put off doing them until then - but at lower levels they give good xp (at least they did when I was lower)and good loot.

On Tribunal, I really don't see that many people doing LDONs who are lower than 30. Once you get into the 30s, dungeons are easier to find...well, except that you don't have a lot of 30-40ish people LFA until later at night, maybe 8-9 pm (CST). It looks like you're playing late at night, so maybe the problem is that people who are that low just don't do dungeons much.

It sounds like you are up against 2 problems:

First one is that you are playing late at night on MST, and this means that a lot of us on the east coast will not be interested in staying around for a 2 hour plus LDON (let alone those in Europe). Even at 10 PM EST, there are a lot less groups for LDON than earlier in the evening.

Second one is that I found that people who play regularly tend to advance at roughly the same level and this is where I get most of my offers to join LDON groups outside of my guild. One problem is that people who take breaks tend to "fall behind" the levels of the others in the group and with the 7 level spread cap, there will be some that get to far ahead.

I would think the solution to both is to find a family guild that has players in your time zone (higher level guildies often have alts that are available to join with you) or to find a group and set up a regular time to play - I had a group which had a good time and then decided to meet at set time the next night to do another.

20s is a tougher time to find LDONs, as there are a lot of zones giving exp (mistmore comes to mind) for competition. You will see more people in the 30s & 40s doing LDON as well as the high end (60+).
