I am sure this thread has been done before...but since I wasn't posting on here when it was, I am going to ask this question. I want to know people's opinions on which class is the roughest in PvP. I have a ranger twink alt who's express purpose in life is to pwn/terrorize n00bs in PC, who I will never level past 25 or so. I think rangers are pretty high up on the list in PvP. Before the patch I was not so keen on my bst main in PvP but now its a whole new world being able to tote around my buffed pet everywhere I go. I have not gotten into any PvP as of yet with the new patch but am eager to do so. Whats your take on the PvP scene?

a 25 ranger couldnt own himself, rangers dont get good till high lvl with AAs. i imagine a beastlord would be a decent pvper, but if your talking about low lvl you should maybe try a necro or sk, perhaps a druid or a mage.

I say Sk's, i hear there pretty good. I Pvp this one guy when i was about lvl 18 and he was 17 and I kicked his *** with my spells and combat.

I think until the final decision is made on the PVP changes it will be hard to determine up front who is going to have the advantage.

Low level Rangers are good at PVP when tweeked. High level Rangers tweek with AA's are deadly. When an arrow hits and crits and is coming in so fast you can't cast well that is pretty much all she wrote.

BL are going to be very competitive. I expect to see a lot of new BL hit the servers.

But as I stated above till we fully know what the changes are going to be it will be hard to tell exactly which class has the advantage. Personally I think it is going to be whoever has the largest pack they run with. Solo PVPing will be non-existant is my thoughts except for low levels.

i think any caster or pc that relys on a pet is an easy kill at lower levels especially. all you have to do is cast invis on the pc and poof, pet disappears.

if you plan on keeping a low level toon, definatley go with a melee type. rangers are good, but for the best go with an ogre SK. at the lower levels you will have a huge sta/str advantage over other classes even if they are twinked. you cant be stunned from the front and you can use a 2 hand weapon for big dmg and still bash. plus having spells and a little extra dmg pet even though not much. you cant go wrong with an sk ogre.

at lv 25 a ranger having track is nice, but when you run across an ogre SK , dead ranja. and if you plan on staying in PC exclusivly then track wont matter anyway.

SK is very good for PVP.

I won't call any names, but I have seen a whole guild go roll SKs on PVP server when their own server was down. Buncha harm touches stacked up can really ruin your day. Gets even better when they just stand over your corpse waiting for you to try for it.

I can tell a lotta of you folks don't play on a PvP server...which is OK. My ranger is exclusivly for terrorizing n00bs, nothing else. Having snare, a Blessed Thunderbolt and a Fungi is enough to ruin anybody in my level range's day. SK's are damn good in PvP tho, as one of my old friends played a troll SK for the same reason and was the terror of Paludal Caverns on VZ. PC is the place to go for killing noobs on VZ, and quite a few people make toons for the exact purpose I do. The baddest of them all is a delevelled monk with 75 aa's running around, who pwns all. He is sumthin else. Another rough one is a delevelled rogue w/ maybe 40 aa's or so. n00bs will literally leave PC as soon as either of these fools zone in. PvP is a whole diffent game almost, and one I don't do that often. My main, Grulkraad only fights when attacked first, or when he owes one to somebody, so I don't get to experience the same rush of terrorizing peeeps for no reason with him. Its fun when people literally beg for thier lives and whine to not be killed. Makes me want to riddle them with arrows all the more. My favorite thing is to just snare or root, then run circles around and round, hacking them down, while my Fungi and BotGT keep me at full health. Can't beat the feeling...oh and one other thing. To the post above, don't you have to be grouped with somebody in order to cast invis on them?

yes. i wasnt thinking about that. i duelled an SK in my group and he used an invis potion on me and poof pet gone. i was just like hell why didnt i think of that. being a necro i only have self invis so i had forgotten about having to group for that. thanks for pointing that out.

i dont know about what pvp server you play. i play on Sullon Zek and everyone, even the lowbies, have such a high MR that snare wont stick on anyone. root occasionally. so having that advantage isnt there. i have a 52 SK on sullon with fungi and use a shard of night with a shield for rangers usually, or a tantor's tusk for sparring. i have never lost to a ranger no matter how twinked. and usually i dont even use the fungi for anything but downtime. rangers need you to be able to snare or root to be effective. and since soe has made it so hard to stick snares, and the fact of everyone has over 100 MR at LEAST, rangers are less of a pvper now than ever.

I do agree on the point of getting snares to stick. Very true, however in Paludal caverns there are enough true blood n00bs running around to find easy prey, at least on VZ. Now when people geared up to my level of goods are about, things get a bit more difficult. I am not a good PvP'er, merely an oppurtunist to tell the truth. I play my main 98% of the time and do much better against my equals when I play him. I play the ranger merely for a release, bad day at work, fight with the woman etc...but the snare thing is very true. Anybody with 100+mr it may take a bit to get it to stick. But once again as I said before, my ranger will never pass 25th lev and there is pleanty of prey in my age range to terrorize w/o 100+ mr.

I haven't played my Rallos characters in a long time, so forgive me if some of this is inaccurate.

Flash of light made real newbies easy pickin' for my beastlord. I couldn't land it against any reasonable magic resistance, but those guys I could usually melee down nicely with my hit points absorbing the abuse.

One thing I've heard is alright is a level 20 druid. A former friend claimed that if he could get his spells to stick on people in the plains of Karana or the Commonlands it was basically over for them, since he could kite them down pretty easily at that point.

Depending on your gear I always had fun with my wiz. between ss and the nukes at lower lvls you could bother the crap out of a lot of people. All in all I'd say a pally with good gear, jboots, and a decent weapon. You can take hits wear them down and you should always have lay hands ready in case you need it.
