Raid Progression HelpFollow

Hi,
I am in a new guild and have put in charge of setting up raids. We only have about 10 members that are 60+ with average gear and another 30 or so that are 46+. I'm still a newb at the game and would appreciate any input as to a progression of boss mobs for the guild.
We have done minor raids in Veksar (Named Mobs), not the Dragon and Droga. I am at a loss as to where to start to keep the guild interested as we grow. We tried the Trials the other day and made it to the third wave, but can't quite get there to complete. I figure another few weeks we should be able to make it through.
This is a casual guild and we only raid on fridays. Most of us have all the expansion. Thanks for any input.

Start by having your guild find another raid leader or at least a second in command. That's no slap on you; you're going to burn out quickly trying to do this unless you're the type who REALLY grooves on this stuff. It's like a corporation hiring someone to open the mail and then putting him in charge of Events Management.

That said, I'd look at Velious raiding (Thurg and then Halls of Testing). Maybe lesser Luclin named like Tawro and Radir in Umbral Plains. You might be able to do some PoP stuff like Hedge Maze. If he's up, Trakanon could be a fun attempt. And, of course, epic progression raids (Named in Fear, Ixiblat, Chardok, etc). Hell, even Juggernauts in Sebilis can be fun for a couple groups of 46+ but under 60's. Nice way to collect rare Kunark spell drops as well.

Really, it depends on how large a group you can field. You say how many people you have, but can you depend on them all to show up on a Friday night and stay for the duration? Can you rely on them not to all suddenly "need to go" the first time you wipe in a difficult spot instead of sucking up, trying again and getting better? Kael and HoT have the advantage of not needing 40 people there to raid, but the armor might not be a huge draw any longer due to mudflation.

Velious is where it is at to cut your teeth raiding - it has raid content from the 40s through to the 60s. Start with Kael Arena, which is a good place to learn the basics, and then move on to Temple of Veeshan (Halls of Testing) when Kael becomes trival - i.e you can confidently beat Derekor the Vindicator.

Velious has decent lore, and is widely considered to be the best quality raiding expansion of them all.

Once you get everyone closer to level 60, you can start considering some raids in Ssra and some of the easier PoP progression mobs.

Completely forgot epic quests - that should be a staple source of raids for you - many many varied targets. You will want to get all your Clerics and Bards with their epics at a minimum.

Chardock royals is another really really fun raid, and great for learning the basics.
