Magelo ServersFollow

Magelo is currently working for me. Perhaps there is a router problem between you and magelo.

May well be a router somewhere :(

I can't even connect to to the update server when I run magelo. I'm sure this means it's not just a problem with my IE settings. I run Norton Firewall as well but haven't changed anything EVER!! so don't believe that will be the trouble. Ah well, I'll give it a week and see what happens.

Well now you do have me confused

I have a USR ADSL Router, but I can visit every site I normally look at, run EQ etc, etc and it has not had it's default settings changed, yet you tell me it can not only block me looking at the magelo home page, but can also prevent Magelo update programme from communicating with their server.

Beyond my knowledge I'm afraid.

I just tried this (router off for 10 mins), sadly exactly the same problem:-

Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

Thank you for the further pointers Reinman. I'll try the mozilla route. I've cleared all cookies and temp internet files plus done a system roll-back to a week ago.
Sadly no joy.

If the mozilla browser works OK, I'll try the repair and repatch option.

Just a quick idea. Open up a command prompt Start-Run, and type cmd
At the prompt type ping www.magelo.com it should resolve to
198.64.149.47

If it doesn't resolve to an address, chances are your ISP's DNS server has a corrupt or missing entry, this should update every hour.
If it resolves to a different address check your local hosts file for bogus entries.
If it resolves to the correct address and gets replies then I'm going to guess it's either a problem with your internet settings or your firewall.

No that's the correct address for eq.magelo.com. I did a ping from here as well and received no response from the server and I'm unable to get there via this address.

I am able to get there via www.magelo.com or using the 198.64.149.47 address. If you are typing this exactly as it is www and not eq then I'd suggest just typing the IP address into the address line and going there that way.

If you're using the www and it's resolving to the eq then it looks like the DNS has a cross linked host in it.

Ok here's a kicker for ya, I'm getting the same problem as you now. I'm getting the eq.magelo.com address for the www. As well I'm getting the for sale sign on the direct IP.
194.38.169.114 is the address I get from 3/4 nslookup sites, so we'll assume this is the correct one. I'm unable to ping it but I can reach their server just fine. I'm out of ideas for ya, maybe take it to the tech support forum and see if anyone there can help ya out.
