Need a good Enchanter weapon!Follow

#1 Jun 25 2004 at 2:54 PM Rating: Decent
I know, I know... Enchanters aren't suppose to use weapons. But my mana runs out fast... so I gotta do something. So... what's a good High Elf Enchanter weapon? I've looked at staffs... expensive ones... but can't get them to go into any slot. Someone help. I'm on Mithaniel Marr... and would be more than happy to buy something from someone if it works well.

If your mana is running out so fast, I'd suggest getting something in your slots that increases your mana pool. Go to the bazaar for either route and look up what weapons are available for your race and class, also look up what you can afford to boost that int and mana.

Not sure of your level.

I used https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=698 for a long time.

I strongly suggest to ALL casters to do the Earring of the Solstice Quest. The stats are very nice and you get FT1 also. All pieces are purcahsed in the bazzar just buy em 1 at a time when you see one you still need at a low price.

Is this a quest anyone can do or do you need some of the expansion packs for this? I have only the original game.

The bazaar is off of the nexus, take the nexus stone from the Plane of Knowledge, the go right out of the door and take the next right you see. Go down that hallway and take a left at the dead end. Follow that to the zone in.
The bazaar is a place where characters go to sell items as if they where npc vendors.
Type /baz or /bazaar when you get in their to brnig up the bazaar menu. The menu is pretty self explanitory.

I just saw you only have the original, and you need luclin to go to the bazaar, d'oh!

I am level 13 and have roughly 300pp to spend.

Is there anyway that I can check the stats on items? I hate buying something and then not being able to use it due to class or whatever. And never knowing what an item does is frustrating too. Isn't there a way I can pull those stats up?

I can't take the Nexxus... I don't have that expansion. :(

Get a premium membership on this site, and you can use the advanced equipment search, you won't be dissapointed. If you have the extra $10.00, I recommend you go out and buy evolutions too to get all expansions up to Ykesha I believe.

A free alternative is to create a magelo profile, and then you can equip different items to see the stats, and find out if you can actually use them.

The Fungus Coated Tarmok Staff is a little on the slow side, but produces some really nice damage. It's been a while since I bought it, but if memory serves it wasn't overly expensive. What I really like about it is how cool it looks. It's really wild looking and definitely out of the ordinary.

Regarding the Earring of the Solstice, I'm not sure the FT1 works for folks under the recommended level. Still has great stats though.

Unless I am mistaken, a recent patch allowed access to PoK regardless of installed expansions. It might be possible to find someone in PoK who would make a run for you to bazaar to pick something up for you.

Also, there is an alternate way to bring up the dialog box for an item. Just alt + left click on the item either in a merchant's inventory or your own. This will also work in the item lists in bazaar (once you do get there).

I have an 56 level enchanter and I dont think I have used a weapon in about 40 levels - you will eventually get items that go in the primary and secondary slots that boost stats and mana.

For a cheap weapon at your level, you could get one of the slate weapons that drop from Sandelf LDONs - go to the camp in North Ro (it is near the border between grass and desert near the west side of the zone). Right click on the Magus to get your options. I assume that you can get LDON weapons (?).

You really should consider adding expansions, the evolutions gives you all up to POP for the price of the original game.

Also, for those able to get a good group together to go after the first 2 missions, or those who know someone able to request the third, the Sceptre of Corruption drops at the end of this quest. You wanted a weapon for mana, this has a chance to "lifetap" up to 400 mana from your opponent. (I'm not kidding. Look it up in the spell list, it's listed as a lifetap.) granted it may not be the easiest thing in the world to get, but a good group at 70+ in current EQ gearingshould be able to beat it.
