- 49 Ranger Weapons....
49 Ranger Weapons....Follow
I am 49 Ranger and need some recommendations from Rangers or any other classes. I currently have a Razor-edged Shan'Tok in main hand and a Centi Shortsword in offhand. Anybody have any recommendations for upgrade? Should I maybe invest in 1H Blunt weapon in offhand? This is my first toon and have only been playing since February so am kinda new on ALL the weapons out there. Just throw some suggestions so I can look them up and what not. Thanks again.

I totally disagree, almost all of those are warrior weapons, stand-by and I will give you better alternatives, it would help to know what kind of cash you have to spend.
Without a doubt get yourself a Defenders Lightblade for your offhand.
For primary, you could try Blackened Acrylia Blade
But, if you don't have the money for the Blackened Acrylia Blade, you could try a Grand Scepter of Ice
...and if you don't have enough to get that then you could get a Jagged Blade of Morning.
Oh crap I almost forgot, get yourself a Lupine Dagger too, just for the proc.
Those would be my recommendations.

My ranger, at 50? 51? (I forgot, having suspended that account) wields the BA Blade and the Grand Sceptre. For 2HS I have something from a Griegs mini-boss, Sombrous Claidhmore. Magelo for Belhade is below, for other ideas for 50ish gear.

Start saving for a Stained Axe of the Scions. You can get it for under 1k, and it's a great deal. Defenders Light Blade would make a good offhand.

Thanks for help everybody - I have about 6K Plat to spend - I will check those above weapons out. Hopefully I can afford them - hehe.
I think I would hold off on the Stained Axe of the Scions. You will not be taking advantage fo the excellent ratio for a another 7-8 long levels.

I've seen them that cheap on Stromm. I had problems selling mine even for 1k because there's so many out there.
At that level I was doing the most damage with 2HS - the Sword of the Crypt Crawler, which healed, and the War Marshalls Staff. I absolutely loved the Sword of the Crypt Crawler through level 54; it was one of the funnest weapons I ever used, as the effect was terrific looking and very beneficial. I was much more effective with 2HS fear kiting the Griffons in JP and the various mobs in Eastern Wastes. I think at level 49 I had the Ardent Protector, or such, and continued to get better 2HS through the earlier 50's. At level 55 and above, I started doing much more damage with the 1HS duel wield weapons avaliable, and am not using 2HS much (even the Windblade and others I have).
Thanks Friar!!! I spent the last of my plat on Blackened Acrylia Blade & Defenders Lightblade and love them!! Hitting in the 60's & 70's now! But mostly 50's. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP!
No problem, that is nice combo for a ranger.
i bought a Stained axe for 400pp on Kane Bayle. From a very pleasant ranger who threw in a pair of stylee gloves too. im lvl39, and i hit for up to 50 with it. can only get better! Ive got a green Jade Broadsword in my other hand an thats nice too.
