i finally got my wife to play eq with me and she liked the look of the ogre so we picked an ogre warrior for her i took a sk
but then also a bl for myself

anyways the point is when i got to level 9 with the beastlord i put my training points into the magical abilities and i noticed that in the training options it said at level 16 i could tinker

is this a bug or can ogres tinker i thought it was only gnomes

I noticed the same thing. My husband's bst put 1 point into tinkering, just to see if the game would allow it. It did.

The way it is supposed to be is any race can tinker, but only gnomes can raise their skill above a nominal level

Started a barbarian beastlord. At level 16 she also gets tinkering.

It used to be that everyone could tinker up to level 50. You would not be able to raise the skill, you were able to tinker as if you were at level 50. However, recently they said they made the change so that only Gnomes were able to use the toolbox for tinkering, other than to recharge items. It probably is a bug that allows you to skill up in tinkering and I have a feeling they will change it soon.
