Just recently I have discovered how much fun it is to actually explore. Before the pok gunthak stone I used the stonebrunt mnts way and I loved it. I was getting tired of the repetitive xp grind and it was a real joy to explore the zone. I have a 43 war and I have started to explore dungeons, I have done BB. Crushbone. pc, kurns, upper guk, split[aw and runnyeye. Is there any more dungeons worth exploring for pure explorings sake? I am not interested in xp (or dying). I know I can look at the zone/level table but it doesn't tell you how much fun a zone is. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Really any zone is fun to explore. But if your looking for dungeons, Crypt of Dalnir is fun. Lower Guk is messy. Permafrost and Sol A/B are kind of fun.

Yeah, Dalnir is pretty cool. You could go to Crystal Caverns, but I find it to be pretty boring. Even the area past the city is kind of ho-hum. Kaesora is an option, but I don't think it's as nice from a poking around point of view as Dalnir.

For greenie slumming, you can go into Befallen or Najena. Both need keys, however, to fully explore.

Old Sebilis is, in my view, the perfect dungeon from a construction standpoint. You'd be squashed before you passed the first two mobs in the zone, but the zone design itself is fantastic.

Best dungeons design wise are..

Kaseora- one way entrance, great views (Library and church).. lot's of pits!

Solusek A- the goblin dungeon that goes on and on and on and on.. and it has a bar!

Old sebi- HUGE HUGE dungeon with SOOO many sections-- and it has a bar!

Howling Stones- great design.. progressive key quest-- pit traps-- fun!!

No love for Runnyeye and its bar Smiley: frown

I like Kaesora, but I don't think its one of the best. There's really only two noteworthy spots (library and church) and the rest is an annoying *** network of tunnels. It's all a matter of opinion though.

Fungus Grove can be safely explored while invis. There isn't much to look at though: Big radioactive lake, cavemen, bugs and shrooms, shrooms, shrooms.

One of the greatest dungeons - Tower of Frozen Shadows. Keys are needed to advance to each level, but very fun.

I remember the days before PoP came out and I was playing my old vah shir bard trying to get off Luclin. The only way was thru PC. I lost count of how many times I had died just trying to get to SH so I could get to the Nexus and get off the moon. But anyway I've always liked exploring Estate of Unrest. It's my kinda place.

I love to explore, I recently found Twilight Sea as a new interesting place to go too and farm some tradeskill stuff.

One thing that I do is every so often I take the longest route possible (if I'm just bored) and usually try to see something I haven't before.

I am just a bard, level 41 now, but I am not sure I would run comfortably through Dalnir for the fun of it unless I knew the fastest way to the exit. Of course, I have partnered with some warriors in the past and certainly bow to the sheer HP allowance compared to mine so I may be way off here as to fun without dying thing. I have brief exp in most of the other dungeons listed but some are quite safe, and again, as a Bard I would make sure I knew the fastest exit with others :).

Thanks for the replies everyone, they are much appreciated.
Sometimes I think that too much emphasis is put on leveling and the xp grind, like the thread title says sometimes it is good to explore just for the sake of exploring. Being an Iksar with a negatib=ve xp modifier the grind can sometimes get too much and it is fun just to see whats over the horizon( but being an iksar its a worry filled passtime with everything kos).

p.s Due to naivity my only weapon skill is 2h slash, is it too late to start anougher?

It is never too late to start another. Find a partner who can tank reasonably well, and start killing dblues. You can just be dps when you do manage to get a hit with 1HS or whatever you want to train. Can be fun to just kill mobs for the sake of killing. You'll get a little bit of xp, and might one day be able to claim that all your melee stats are maxed... GL
