Ok ok, now when I first seen stuff on EQ2 like a year or two was it ago? I thought, Psh, sounds friggin dumb, but now, I've quit EQ and FFXI and it is really starting to interest me (Probably because I miss EQ sooo much and EQ was the best MMORPG I've ever played and I feel it's a little late to go back now), but there is one thing on noticed about races on www.everquest2.com.
Ok I haven't read up "too" Much on this game yet, but I noticed that EVERY race only gets to start in either Qeynos or Freeport, why is that? From what I remember Orcs couldn't just easily go traveling in Freeport, I also heard something about the paladins rebeling and taking over freeport.. but still..
Is there only 2 towns in this game? (Freeport, Qeynos)
And why do all the races only start in one of those two (Some can start in either)

So what's the chances of their being a server similiar to Sullon Zek(Diety Alliance pvp) That was my main server on EQ, it was fun and all, but anyways, if everyone is basically from the same town how could it even work out? Unless.. it was Qeynos v Freeport or some other type of Team v Team pvp server, that's what I'm lookin for in EQ2 (Although I know they haven't announced PVP yet, I could start off on reg server like I did with EQ

I've heard that they may add PVP later in the game, but it won't start out with PVP.

Also, you're worried about just 2 cities... I read in one mag (think it was PC Gamer) that each city is going to be something like 17 zones, with each race having it's own "subdivision". Nothing like the Freeport and Qeynos we have now.

You ought to go to the main SOE site and read their forums and info. That's where I got most of my info from. :)

The new class system looks nice. I find myself kinda of boared of everquest of late. Looks like this could be a good game to switch to or maybe warcraft.

In EQ2 lore Norrath just went through a great cataclysm that destroyed vast regions of the planet. Luclin blew up and shards of the moon came crashing down onto the surface of the planet. In addition magic as we know it went completely askew and teleportation seems to be no longer possible (for the short term at least).

Only two cities out of all of Norrath were spared: Qeynos and Freeport. The cities of the other races still exist but are in ruins: Neriak, Kaladim, Kelethin, etc… The two remain cities have polarized into good v.s. evil alignment. Good races and found sanctuary in Qeynos, while evil races have been taken in as refuges in Freeport.

p.s. Although the story line is good from a development standpoint you have only 2 starting cities because it would be humanly impossible to rebuild all content to the new graphics engine in a timely manner. This is the core reason why there are only 2 main starting cities: development time.
