Need a bit of help - Totally outdated level 27 RangerFollow

#1 Jun 21 2004 at 12:54 PM Rating: Decent
Well, I'm only about 3 kills from level 28, but I have a feeling I've been lucky in some great groups lately. So I'm here to ask for feedback. I created my character on www.magelo.com and was wondering if some of you could take a look at it and let me know what equipment is SORELY lacking. I realize the answer may be "all", but please keep in mind that I just started playing again after 3+ years away from EQ, so virtually all my equipment was bought/got back then. Only my primary and secondary weapons were bought recently (everything else was bought 3+ years ago).

I don't have a lot of money (very little, in fact - around 200pp). This is my only character: http://www.magelo.com/eq_view_profile.html?num=1049443

So again, if I had to buy maybe just a couple of items for now, what is MANDATORY? :) I just sold my collar, as it was a "spiked collar" and was practically useless. So if you had this character and you wanted him to stay alive and advance, what would be the first thing, second thing, and third thing you'd do if you had 200-250pp and were in the bazaar? (And "start-over" is not a valid answer - hahaha).

Thanks!

Take a look at these two Magelos, they have a lot of gear that would be good for you, and it is generally quite cheap. And yes pretty much all your stuff could use upgrading. ANd you could do so cheaply and effectively. You can look at Reinmon's magelo although most of his gear is fairly expensive over 1k per piece.

Eh, I'd say for lvl 27, untwinked, you're doing fine. Maybe look into some Ry'Gorr bits for the legs if you can find a good deal. If not that, then something besides the Drake hide. Switch out the earrings with something with AC/hp -- Orc fang is a standard choice. Maybe a Spider fang (or is it spider fur?) choker for the neck which is only 50pp or so on Saryrn. Other than that, there's lots of things you could upgrade, but nothing that's like wearing cloth or whatnot.

Start saving up your pennies for a haste item. Flowing Black Silk Sash is the usual way people start.
