as for providing this guy with a vaild CD key, oh yeah. the key he has that came with his box set should be perma banned as it is stolen, thus illegal, and he should be issued a vaild working key.
he afterall has paid for one, and has the proff of such perchace. thus SoE is legaly obligated to provide the consumer with what they paid for.
its called fair trade and is a federal law. if you perchace something then you are fully entitled to that product/service unless you breach some contract. if this guy/kid/person has perchaced the EQ box set, then that includes a WORKING CD KEY.
it is SoEs responsibility as the provider of both the product and service to issue a working CD key for this individual upon request.
I disagree. If I buy a toaster from Wal*Mart, go home, and find out someone had opened the box on the Wal*Mart shelf, took out the toaster and filled the box with bricks, that's between me and Wal*Mart, not me and ACME Toaster Co.
ACME sells a toaster to Wal*Mart. ACME is legally obligated to be sure there's a toaster in the box as the sale is between ACME and Wal*Mart.
Wal*Mart sells me a toaster. Wal*Mart is legally obligated to be sure there's a toaster in the box as the sale is between Wal*Mart and myself.
Now replace "toaster" with "valid CD key".
SOE has no way of knowing what CD key was purchased. Hello^3 has proof that he bought a
Evolutions set and that's it. He has no proof that CD key 123456789A was the one in the box he had purchased. He could have a receipt for key 987654321B and the jewel case for 123456789A that he bought at a grage sale for all SOE knows since the bar code on each is identical. The store should refund him, but it's not really SOE's problem.
Personally, I'd go to the store, get my money back and buy
Evolutions as a download online from the SOE store since you can buy keys direct now since all the files are availble via the patcher now. He already has the files installed, so just use the key from SOE and go to town.
