1. When you equip a cloak, can you see it on your Char? (kinda like DAoC)

2. Is 3rd person view better than first person?

3. How maney hours will it take to get from lvls 1-10?

4.Whats sooooo addicting about EQ?

Generally I don't think you see cloaks on the char...could be wrong though. Bottom line is DAoC characters look better imo, but the EQ game mechanics are a lot better.

1-10 depending on your class, location, server, equipment, and game experience will probably take 3-7 hours.

After 4 years of playing on and off, and brief stints of UO, AC, DAoC, and FFXI, I have no idea why EQ is so addictive, but it's the only MMORPG I keep coming back to. I think it's mostly the very social atmosphere of the game and the huge huge huge array of equipment, the huge game world, and tons of spells/abilities and well balanced classes. I think EQ clearly has at least 3 or 4x the raw content of any other competing game.

1. NO

2. depends. i use several views, but the main view i used was FP.

3. depends on class and how twinked you are. i could get a warrior with bronze armor and a nice weapon/shield combo from 1-10 in a few hours, but a caster would take much much longer.

4. the ppl you meet in the game. the community is just the best out there of any MMORPG i have yet to be in. that is not to say there are not loads of ashats out there playing EQ, but there are enough good ppl that you can get into a good guild and have friendly company to hang with while playing. at least that is what was so addicting to me about EQ. kicked my EQ habbit, but only to replace it with DAoC (way better MMORPG over all, but way lower server population) and CoH, just fun to be a flying supper hero.

1) No. Several pieces of armor never show (like mask, earring, ring, cloak, shoulders)

2) I used to like 3rd person better. Now I find I'm in 1st person most of the time. But hey, you have like 6 or 8 different views switch it up... live a little!!!

3) You could do it in a few evenings but why rush? Use your 1st 10 lvls to learn the mechanics of the game and get comfortable in a couple of zones (like your home and the one next door).

4) the sheer diversity and complexity of the world is overwhelming. This leads me to want to keep playing night after night, week after week, month after month... no matter how much I play I know I'll probably never see it all!

P.S.) Well, what are you waiting for??? Dive in and get some!!!
