Would this be a good zone for a 46 Ranger to solo? I was wanting a zone I could use my ranger spells (DoT, Snare, Panic Animal)and use them on white/yellow mobs. I am in Dreadlands now but can't use my panic animal spell - and the mobs con DB to me. Thanks for help!

Very good. The only hostile mobs to a ranger are the dark gnolls (who stay in their caves pretty much), potameids (don't go too close to the river) and griffons, whom you're hunting anyway. Restrict your hunting to the griffons, snakes and wisps -- killing the other fauna will give you faction hits.

Thanks a lot for help - does it make difference which portal I use to get there (surefall or Blackburrow)? I was leaning towards Surefall because it is more in open - but I will stick to hunting mobs you mentioned - my panic animal will work on most mobs right?

Out of what I mentioned, only the wisps are immune. Snakes and griffons/griffawns are not.

How you enter is up to you. I use Surefall just because I find it to be faster. The gnolls you arrive by using the BB zone are neutral to everyone so it's safe, but more suited for evils who can't use the Surefall portal.

Cool - thanks a lot for your help. How about adds? Do others join in if I am pounding one of their buddies? I figure the Griffon would if he came along. But any others? I won't be hunting by gnoll caves or river.

Griffons are social, but then again they attack everyone anyway -- cranky bastards. Snakes are non-aggro and non-social. Wisps are non-aggro but social to other wisps. Wolves, bears and cats are all social but they won't aggro "nature" classes without being provoked and you don't want the faction hits anyway.

Poachers (they have their own camp) are social but will start dubious. I'd just leave them alone if you want to ranger fear kite. Trents and dryads can be safely ignored and they'll ignore you. Potameids are very aggro and social -- many are immune to snare so if you accidently aggro them, I'd just run out of chase range and zone to shake aggro. They're not worth the fight.

I've been in that zone forever on my druid, and I've never had a griffon assist. I play in wolf form though, so that's it maybe?

Maybe. I know they were aggro to my beastlord whereas the Jaggedpine Critters were not. I always see druids and rangers using wolf form there so maybe that's why. Or maybe they just like looking like dogs Smiley: grin
