I came here looking for Allakhazam's report on the summit, and don't see one. Was Allakhazam invited to the summit? If not, I'm very disappointed at Sony.

You mean the Summit which has been one of the bigger pieces of Everquest news over the last few weeks and has write ups on nearly every class board? That Summit?

That is disappointing that Sony didn't invite Allakhazam to the summit. This is perhaps the most visited of any Everquest related website, other than perhaps the official everquest website.

I find it odd as well. I consider Stratics, EQ casters realm and Alla's the big 3 of fan sites. Stratics and EQCR were represented at the summit.

Perhaps only sites that advertise for Yantis were invited.

just kidding...

Other than the creation guides that are on casterrealms,I think that site isn't even in the same league as Alla's. That site has fallen into the cycle of never update anything.

the summit has been big news on quite a few eq sites

sorry you missed it

and oh yeah with the same idea would people stop using abbreviations like

CoM BoT PoJ PoT PoK CB PC MM PoT9 because not everyone knows what they are and instead of just asking if you dont know it is so much easier to just be a smarta** about it

I think people from SOE are probably intimidated by us lol

but i did notice the list of people seem to be focused on high level support while this forum is more geared towards a younger <in level> customer.

Of course the game isn't broken from level 25 - 55 is it.........

Another annoying thing is they invited some of the high posters from stratics and casters realm too.

They really like to pretend this site doesn't exist, don't they?

I consider this to be the website Verant/SOE should have provided for us, but didn't.
#16 Jun 10 2004 at 5:04 PM Rating: Decent
SOE doesnt like us because when we complain about there ****** services they know were right so they try to avoid us.

Sorry to hear for a fact that Allakahzam was not invited. Being that Allakahzam is a major website for fans of EQ, I can't help but feel the reason for the snub is a personal one. The Sony team must hold some sort of conflict with the owner to do this, and wished to impose its own disdainful rejection on Alla.

And yes, Alla's strong opposition to sales of characters and items for rl money comes to mind. Given how Sony is now trying to gain fees from such sales. Of course, there may be other reasons that are unknown to the public, but nevertheless, this happened for a reason.

If Sony feels this is the right thing to do--to snub a major website over something personal at the expense of communicating with the fans who support Allakahzam, then I don't think the summit is really true to its purported spirit of communicating with the EQ player community.

Rather, I now feel the summit is tainted, and more likely a public relationship stunt to cajole many class sites and uber guilds into being Sony spokespeople. Sigh.

Truthfully, I think they just forgot. We get along fine with Sony. They have just never quite figured out how to peg us, as we are not really a news site. I have a feeling they just didn't think of us when they were making up a list of news sites.

If not Alla, they should have invited Calimyr and Tehom.

Missed an opportunity there, they did.

Well, I was kind of contacted at the last minute, but they were overbooked so couldn't go. I think they had to send out invites super fast, I got the feeling they had to come up with the list within a couple days, tops- this wasn't a ton of research.

Also, I've been talking to the devs a lot after, so I haven't felt snubbed much. Really, most are pretty willing to listen, though I don't know how much they can really do on their time constraints.

not cool.

I really do hope it was an oversight. If there is one website well suited to representing a wide range of players it's Alla's. We will see if this really was the case next time they hold one of these "regularly occuring summits". In any case shame on you SOE.

So tell me Dracoid, is this how you build your post count? 912 inane useless pieces of drivel containing nothing of any value to anyone at all?

Good job man.
