Most of you prolly haven't seen much of me here. You prolly don't know me in game, and prolly haven't heard of me period. I'm part of the so called *Silent Majority*. I keep to myself, enjoying the game and rarely complaining, and when I do, it's to my friends, not in a flame-filled, cuss-laden rant. Well, today that is going to change (save the flames and cusses :) ).

As of late I have taken a break from leveling. I'm a druid, and I solo exclusively. I have fun doing it, and save a few deaths here and there, I do pretty well. After the DX 9.0 patch, I experienced the same things most people have. The getting stuck, warped beneath and above the world, things like that, but nothing to destroy my gameplay experience.

Well today, whilst fishing in Cobalt Scar, I ended up snaring myself when drunk (Silly me) and getting killed by a wyvern. I lost 59, and it was totally my fault. No biggie there. Got a KEI and headed to Plane of Disease, my favorite hangout for getting back lost levels. I Zone in, and there were two people in there. Nothing abnormal, it's rarely populated on my server. I go looking for rats to charm..and see nothing. Not too odd. Figured the guy there was charming them and had killed em all in the process. So i decided to track a feeble rat..boy was i wrong.

Well, the rat was out in the open, wandering as they usually do. I charmed him, and set off tracking a pile of bile. I saw nothing. No biles, no rats, no spiders...nothing at all. But there was tons of things on track. The bile lead across the little river in PoD...so i went across it..figuring I might aggro him or a couple things whilst crossing. Lo and behold i was swarmed by about 10 things, which all hit me for huge amounts of damage.

Somehow, I managed to survive (Prolly cuz I had every buff in the book from an earlier MGB), but it brings me to this. PoD was empty. Not a roaming creature to be seen at all, only static spawns. After that happened I went back in there to look around. Sure enough, plenty of things on track, but most lead into the sides of mountains near water. Doing the shawl quest in Eastern Wastes, I found the same thing. Tons..and I mean tons..of things stuck in mountain sides near water..that had wandered off and could not get back up. I brought those out with a PBAE spell to prove my theory.

I've seen posts here on these message boards, so I realize this is no new news. But it just hits you when you experience it first hand. I love EverQuest. I really..really do. It's my home within my home. But I don't see how I'm expected to play a game that, in this state, seems absolutely and totally broken, from a pathing standpoint. Certainly there are other zones, but far too many I have gone to, something graphical is broken. Something impeding me from having fun. I can only pray these things are fixed. I love this game and I don't want anything more from it than for it to work.

It is hard to fight things when this is what you see around you: pull from here? I find bugs of this nature to negatively impact my gameplay experience.

And Toasticle claims rangers can't tank. If a druid can tank 10 mobs in PoD I bet even a ranger could tank here. (just kidding Toasticle)

A right thinking Sony supporter would see this as 'working as intended'. Clearly you are supposed to make your way below the zone floor and pull from there. Alternatively, you can gather a PBAE group together and use these cleverly positioned mobs as Sony intends.

Incredible picture, Samatman. That one has not happened to me, thank goodness. Being a barbarian, I have enough trouble getting stuck in doorways. It is getting better, I can usually run and type now. I could not before as I had to make a wide detour around each tree in my path, like a drunk running along.

Now almost a third or quarter of the time when I zone into East Commons, my mouse quits, no clicky left or right. Camp, come back ,fixed. How annoying is that? Also happens occasionaly on another zone. Happens to some people zoneing into LDoN, wait group have to log off, brb.

Thank heavens they tested it BEFORE they put it live. OH, wait....

Well Then try innothule swamp. A few days ago there wasn't a single rock spiderling to be found... Saw some fall out of the air and go right through the ground... Others got stuck in the trees, others were untargetable... The only thing I found was a bunch of skeletons swimming across the ground... Then I found a rock spider that just sat there... Then tried to attack... It poofed about 60 feet away... Swam over there and tried to hit... It poofed again... Finally hit it and killed in one hit because it was with my froggie... It poofed into the middle of the tree... Couldnt loot it... Then I went to South Ro with magician... Summoned pet 3 times but none ever followed me... Then I went to FoB with bard... Everything could attack me when I was quite far away... Went to PC with bard... I was outside... I was killing Shak Dratha and Gor Taku... When they ran they got stuck and kept poofing back to the entrance to PC... Then skeletal brigands started plopping right out of the side of the mountains... Then went to CB to watch orcs and pets fight right through the wall... DX9.0 patch has made everything go strange... Any other funky stories of bad graphics? O ya, In the mines of gloomingsdeep it says <target>Your wounds blister for poison spike. (EX: 'scorpianYour wounds blister')

Gloomingdale, ugh, that place has some funny (albeit bad) graphics problems. Mainly, the one's I've encountered are of the getting stuck to things variety, but heh...

The one quest the lil' Gnome gives out to get his sword that's fallen in the water...the first time I did that, I somehow got my legs stuck on a rock underneath the water! Then I drowned heh. Thankfully, dying at level 2 isn't so painful. However...

...dying at level 58 is. Back when I was halfway through my 58th season with my druid, I was in the Plane of Nightmare charming ravens to slay treants. I was attempting to get past one of the trees by making a fairly routine jump between a tree and a mountain side. I jumped and..eee..stuck! The treant in the meantime started after me and well, that made short work of lil ole me.

There's been a ton more times and incidents but those are the most painful ones I can remember. Most just involve being slowed down to a crawl going up steep hills because the hill doesn't know whether to stick ya or not. It's pretty annoying, but being the good spirit I am, I deal with it :)

EDIT - Yeah..and I have to say I felt pretty durn strong after surviving that PoD ordeal. When i ran over the spot where everything was, I was spammed with red text..tons of hits..but after going over the log I could see not many things hit me that hard, which is strange, considering all those things love to hit in the 250s. I also didnt get stunned, which was the saving factor :)

I was in Nektulos Forest about a week ago trying to get a fire beetle eye. I was hanging out by the Noob Hill near the entrance to Neriak. Everytime I tracked something it was in the hill. There were no roaming monsters anywhere around there. And when there was a roamer, usually a decaying skelly, it would walk INTO the hill.

So I gave up trying to get them in Nektulos, and went to East Freeport instead.

Oh, and another side note: Hasten Bootstrutter has permanently found his new home in the Underground of Rathe Mtns.

Hope they fix these problems soon. It does seem like it is causing a lot of grief amongst the player-base.

I agree EQ is a big pile of crap right now. Over in ME yesterday all the mobs where falling from the sky and thru the earth and back to falling again. What was not falling was swimming in mid-air. I pulled one and ran back to pull spot and mob I think beat me back to the spot. He droped out of the air ontop of me!!! (got to figure out or buy that invised tree and tree stand for my next outing) Point is maybe sony needs to hire a real programer and dump the reject they have now. All they want is our money. They really care less if we are happy with the game.

Im a humble newb mage but I'm also noticing strange things. I was in BB yesterday and my pet just wouldn't follow me ....or he would catch up with me some while later. Also some spider hatchlings that I wanted for their silk just jumped away when I targetted them to somwhere over the hill. And the graphics were all crazy. It remained daytime and misty even though game time was in the middle of the night...weird

I've noticed the pet problems as well. Seems they are having just as much trouble as our characters and NPCs climbing hills :) Mine was pulling the Old Monty Python routine, running towards from afar (as I was eating an apple, of course ;) ), then warping back and starting from where he began. It was kinda funny watching em, never able ta get to me, but trying so hard. :)

I have had this problem in dragon necropolis when I was farming phase spider carapise. There are about 5 stuck underground in the middle and when you get near they all jump out and attack you.

So that's what happened to all the mobs in the newbie zones?! I'm new back to EQ after several years hiatus and I could not comprehend what seems to be the almost total absence of mobs in most newbie areas. I also saw a couple incomprehensible trains, like a caster being chased by 6-7 non-aggro mobs which, I now understand, were probably hit by an AOE spell while underground.

Well, the underground area must be well-populated by now because it seems there are a few more mobs above-ground the past couple days.
