That's actually the biggest drawback to a "pre-points" DKP system, and is the reason many guilds use bids instead (although that also has some serious drawbacks).
There may be some DKP lists around somewhere, and maybe someone from a guild that uses one can point you in the right direction (my guild does awarded loot). One thing to keep in mind is that the a DKP points-list will always be a relative comparison of the value of items. However, those relative values will change based on the capabilities of the guild in question. I'll give an example:
Your guild raids ZoneA regularly. In that zone, two items of note drop. ItemX and ItemY. Both are the "best" of that type of item (based on slot, class, race, etc...) that your guild can get at this time. For that reason, both might have a high DKP value and be roughly the same point cost.
A few months later, your guild starts raiding in ZoneB. In this new zone, ItemZ drops, which is a complete upgrade to ItemX. However, nothing drops here that upgrades itemY. In this case, you'd expect that ItemZ should be more valuable then ItemX (and cost more points), but is it more then ItemY? Should ItemX and ItemY now retain the same relative value?
Your guild will have to adjust those point costs to reflect the rate at which a given item drops, the rate at which you award points during raids, and the relative power of the item when compared to other similar items. It would be very hard to just grab some other guilds point list and make it your own.
I honestly don't know how guilds maintain lists like that. It seems like a prohibitive amount of work. I don't think there's any hard and fast method. Your officers will have to look at the available loot from the mobs you can raid, and just come up with values for that loot. Trying to have a huge master list of every item in the game would be pretty much impossible. Just focus on the things you are likely to have drop and go with that...
