NPC Doesnt return mis-given Item??Follow

Well since a GM hasn't gotten back to me yet (thanks to the new Petition interface that's bugged half the time) I figured I'd ask here and see what the chances are of getting back an item that was destroyed by an NPC.

I was doing the Druid Epic quest and I was at the point where I could turn in the Runecrested Bowl and Hardened Mixture to Ella Foodcrafter in Misty Thicket. I had the instructions next to me to what to do with the two items. So I track her, and I accidently turned in the Hardened Mixture without the runecrested bowl. She did not say anything, just took the item and kept walking. As far as I know, if an NPC turn in does not match what is required they should give back the item correct? My faction with her was fine because she gave me items earlier for my epic. So I decided to petition since I really don't feel like doing the same part of my epic over again (that part is very time consuming since it's all based on luck.) Do you think the GM will return my item? Or will he/she just say something like, "Epics are suppose to be tough! Redo that portion of the epic."

To me, it's a bug in the game, and it logically doesnt make sense that you'd loose an epic piece for making a mistake.

if you had handed in your second item afterwards she would have took it and gave you the next piece for your epic. if noone else has handed her parts for thier epic she may even take the second item now (this is also the way Multiquesting works for those interested) however if its screwed up, there is a strong possibility that petitioning will work and the GM will give you your epic piece back to do the hand in again.

"if you had handed in your second item afterwards she would have took it and gave you the next piece for your epic."

See, I was thinking about doing this...however...If i turn in the runecrested bowl and she still didn't give me what I needed...well then i would have to ReBuy/loot a Jade Reaver, and there is NO WAY in hell I'd risk 10-15k on an NPC that might/might not give me my quest piece.

she would have taken it, theres no doubt about that. of course if you werent sure its best to be on the safe side i suppose, just remember next time you do a quest that NPCs remember which item they have been given (they wont take the item if it has nothing to do with a quest they are part of so if they take it you know its ok) so giving them the other part will get you your next part.

Guess I'll give it a try...If I lose both Items, I'll just update my petition and explain...but if i do loose them, the GM better give em back...

only problem is, if anyone else has done this part of their epic between your hand in and now it may be screwed up. and im not sure how long NPCs keep items before deleting them (tho i believe they keep em indefinately or until a patch or they are killed etc)

I would be careful turning in the second item. Your petition as it stands is a valid mistake that easily could have been made. If you turn the second itme in now and it does not work they may consider this Multi-Questing. I do not believe Multi-Questing is supported by SOE and you may run into problem getting the second itme back. Just a thought but be warned.

Well I tried the second turn in today and it worked and I now have my Elaborate Scimitar! Thanks for the input, it helped alot and I'll keep this in mind if I run into a problem similar to this (Although Im probably going to be more careful in the future.)
