I've had the best luck either in Everfrost or in East Commons.

Innothule Swamp or Nek Forest are the best two, be advised that Spiderings to not appear to spawn after 7pm in Innothule

Then I would try the spiderlings, large spiders and giant spiders in EC.

Large and giant spiders drop "spider silk"...not spiderling silk. Albeit useful this is a completely different drop.

Another area is the Northern Desert of Ro near the Inn. The desert and dune spiderlings both drop the silk, although the drop rates are typically better in other zones. It also helps to occasionally check the merchants, for some newbies still sell them to the vendors.

I would buy this from newbies for 2-3pp per silk. I started a new character on Morden and this is the #1 best way to make starter coin while exp'ing.

Innothule swamp is very good also, near Gukta.

Tox forest has some generous spiderlings as well. Just take either the Paineel or Erudin books down and let the harvest begin.

If you have tracking a great place is Western Karanas, - the spiderlings are difficult to find because it's a big open zone, but they regularly drop two to five silks each.

If you don't have tracking, Innothule swamp has tons of spiderlings, however, they drop few silks. Similarily, there is a little spider cave in the Field of Bones - lots of spiderlings in small area and easy to kill many in short order, but silks are not real common (they drop some other cool things though. It's a fun little cave and you'll likely have the whole place to yourself).

One last place to mention, there is an area in the Ferrott (I think it is in the NE part of the zone)where spider families reside. You can attack the mama spider and 3 to 5 spiderlings will appear out of no where and attack you. They drop spiderling silks and black spider silk. Also, the merchant NPC's in this zone often have silks for sale.

or Nek Forest
I agree. But you best watch your back if you are KoS to the Dark Elves. There are several guards and that Kirak fellow who roam right through the best spider areas.

Anyone else notice the reletive lack of non-static MOBS in Nektulos lately?

Last time I was in e commons doing spiderlings several were stuck in the brick wall that starts near the freeport zoneline. Guildy said that happens a whole lot. So there may not be too many spiderlings out there cause of that. And no I couldn't seem to AOE em out either.

the NE corner of the feerott has the most small spiders. Run from the druid rings to the NE corner of the map and you'll never not have a spider to kill.
