FYI there is a new expedition zone off of Nedaria's landing. First you must go talk to a NPC, name starts with an E can't remember it to save my life tho. He's at the far end of the docks. Hail him and go thru the dialog it will bring up a expeditiion window. Now you can go into this dungeon with a grp or solo. I went alone.

Follow the blue line to the entrance. you'll see a npc there that has som dialogue. No real reason to speak to here that I can figure out. There will also be a light grey rock jutting up from the floor. Click it to zone in. Nothing in the dungeon is KOS. There are 3 rooms with mobs one batroon, one ratroom, and another room with 3 diff types of mobs. Mobs are social rats will assist rats so if you try to pull one then your gonna get the whole room. Takes alot of skill and know how to single pull here. The elves and golem will not assist the rats or bats at all so once you get one to the hallway your golden.

As a 65 druid I soloed 1 bat and 2 rats they dropped 14-18 plat each no items at all. Lag was a lil bad here but not real bad. I am not sure if mobs respawn but I can say for sure that this is a 'outdoors' zone. I'll not give away the technique I used to single pull cause it'll prolly get nerfed.

The mobs don't have really high resists on the 3 mobs snare was resisted 1 time and summer's flame was resisted 2 times. They got quite a few hp's tho. took me half a mana bar to kill one. If you manage to get a single out into the hall the guards will not assist. I got 5% aa one each one I killed. I pulled blue ones to be safe. Rooms are mixed with blue and white conning mobs.

One of the big issues here is that the golems are pathing like mad and if you are fighting in the hallway you can't see your mob 90% of the time. Also line of sight is the rule here you cannot cast on a mob you cannot directly see. Root rarely broke so no issue there.

*Update

Ok I went back and the instance had vanished so I am assuming there is a time limit on the dungeon. The expedition window didn't show any timer tho. Dunno what it is prolly around a hour. Also the taelosian staff that came with the god retail box does change faction here. I hailed a few of the npc's and still got nothing new despite my upped faction.

Done a little foraging here veggies and water was about all I got nothing unique but I didn't try a whole lot.

If you leave the expedition by clicking on the quit expedition button on the window you will be booted in about a minute. Given the time limit on the dungeon I dunno if I'll be able to solo it. My method of pulling as well as the med time needed between mobs takes a fair bit of time. Hopefully next week I can get a few friends to join me and we can clear a room and see if the npc say's anything diffrent. I counted 13 rats in the 'rat room'. Harmony does work here so once you get the room cleared a lil you can use it. Wouldn't try on a full room cause there are alot of rats and they are kinda close.

Hopefully I'll get the time to work on this zone later. Been spending all my time working on the http://guild-designs.com website so not much time playing EQ (I know shameless plug). If you are a 65 druid or necro you could prolly solo here send me a private message and I'll tell you how I was single pulling but be warned it's not a easy thing to pull off I died once perfecting it. Really would like to see if there's a reward for clearing one of those rooms tho.

Good write-up, and that actually seems like a cool website also.

Dunno if my cheap-*** would ever spring to actually buying a web layout, but I'm sure other, less-cheap-asses would ;), especially if they're just 'type-n-go' type pages. Saves a lot of dev. time.

Thanks guy's Makes me feel good to know I have managed to put together a good product. They are 'type and go' pages when you open the pages in the editor they look alot like that a text page in wordpad would look like. So it's real easy to edit without all the confusion of html. Just type what you want test it and go.

From other threads I have read the respawn rate is very fast in the rat & bat rooms. I have not heard any reports of people completely clearing the rooms as of yet.

5% aa is pretty impressive though, any idea how hard they hit?

They hit like tier 2 mobs 300-500 a hit. From what I have gathered they won't assist on people 46 and lower at least that's the rumor. Those above that level will get the whole room to add on them. So if you are level 46 or lower you can single pull em without crowd control. Not 100% on where the level break is but somone said that they could single pull at 46 so that's the best we have so far.

Is this the one that went live on Stormhammer? Because I only found the npc that sends you Eldros Danmor(The one who gives the actual expedition). She is in the Bear caves. This was her dialogue.

Quote:
Nideno Eliagy says 'Greetings, traveler. This is a beautiful land you have here. . .very different from [what I am used to]. You must thank the gods daily for the bounty they have bestowed upon you.'

You say, 'What I am used to?'

Nideno Eliagy says 'Since the coming of the Muramites, my land has been broken and defiled. Taelosia was never a lush land. It could be hostile to the unwary, but it was once [beautiful] in its own way.'

You say, 'Beautiful'

Nideno Eliagy says 'Although the army of Mata Muram has defiled our cities, there are still places that their claws do not yet reach. . .places they do not know exist. If the Wayfarers hadn't come to Taelosia when they did, I'm sure the Muramites would have found these hidden locations as well, but thankfully they are too busy with their own defense now to worry about enslaving the last of my people. One of these places is an old temple that we refer to as the [Forgotten Halls]. The elders have decided to allow outsiders into the Forgotten Halls in the hopes that you will understand better the plight of the Taelosian people once you see the unblemished beauty of an ancient Taelosian temple.'

A level 41 guildmate of mine entered and single pulled here with no issues at all so looks like the rumors are true

Here are my experiences from this past week (june 18-24, 2004):

Hail the first NPC on the second dock. He'll give you your expedition and send you to the bear cave (very simliar to the ldon procedure). Hail the Taelosian chick and then click on the large boulder near the side wall of the cave. I've always hailed her before going in because the last thing she tells you is that you've been granted access. I don't know if I *have* to hail her to go in...might not.

22 Mage with 22 Zerker got 2-3% exp per kill and great plat. The bats and rats dropped the normal stuff...whiskers, pelts, ears, wings, etc. But, the groundskeepers at the door wouldn't take any of the loot we tried to hand over. When you hail the groundskeeper, they say they'll be very appreciative if you can clear the room, but *shrug* we still haven't figured out how to get any kind of reward. With no buffs at all and very little twinkage, it was tight to clear the room before repops, but we managed it twice in the few hours we were there. Also, at this level, there was no social aggro and single pulls were possible while standing right next to another mob.

Low 60's and high 50's group of 4 went and the same thing with the small bat and rat room. No social aggro. The exp was much lower but AA Exp was awsome. Cash was about the same, as was the loot. We moved on to the larger mixed room that includes some mini-golems (I think called rejects). We wiped. The golems in this room are social for this level, while nothing in this room was social for our level 22 toons.

The best part about this zone is it's free from trains!! My husband and I got so fed up with Mistmoore trains. Yes, it's a hotspot right now, but GEEEEEZ...so we now stick with this zone. Relaxed, easy, and all to ourselves! Another neat thing is the expedition leader (the one who initially hailed the guy on the dock) can leave the zone and add new players without having to start the zone over. Simply zone out, add them to group, use Alt Z to bring up Exp. window and target them...then click Add Player.

Things I have READ (not experienced):

Once you ding and the exp starts going down, you can quit the expedition and start a new one and (since it's made for your level) your exp will be back to 2-3% per kill again. I haven't tried this yet, but it makes sense to me.

The Guide and Golems at the entrance have aggro'd people. I have not experienced this and all I can think of is that someone in their group has extremely bad faction with Taelosians. All mobs here were either indifferent or apprehensive to me and I've only killed the normal mobs in Natimbi so far. Some people have actually posted that they've killed the Golems (which are the same level as all the other mobs and hit about as hard as any of the others), but I don't know if they took negative factions hits...personally, I woudln't mess with it *shrug*

Let's see...what else...no lag on either of my computers (and one's a little old). Very small zone, but the beauty is the solitude and good exp for younger toons (aa for higher).

This zone is worth checking out at least once or twice with various toons. Do some test pulls in the larger mixed room to test aggro as you go (we didn't test the one time we wiped). I've heard the change happens around 45, but I really have no idea if that's accurate. I've been scouring the net for threads like these in hopes of finding that out, as well as how to get rewards for clearing the rooms.

happy hunting!

Oh, almost forgot...to get out, hail the guide at the entry point. I think you say "i am ready to leave" and he'll port you out. He will say the text automatically when someone is near him (as when you zone in) without having to hail him, but lately, I have HAD to hail him in order to get him to port me out. *shrug* Don't know if this is a bug or not.

Woah I'm gonna check this out with my 65 pal/cleric duo. Looks like a spot I can pop some exp out during lunch breaks 8)

Any idea if there is a range limit between players in a group? LDoN has the 7 levels limit, for example could a 53 sk group in this expedition with a 65 necro?
#13 Jun 24 2004 at 8:51 PM Rating: Decent
think a 21 necro (heavily twinked with clarity and the other normal buffs for a caster)can solo the rats or bats? Or anything else in the adventure zone for that matter?

Ps....For all who kind of wonder how i am heavily twinked i will tell you. I quit my ranger (Herkupove)sold all his equipment and used the cash to twink a necro. Having more fun than even and i dont regret it at all.

The Bat Room was not social to 65 Paladin/Druid combo. I could single pull every time no problem. Have not tried the rat room. But guessing its the same. The large room though pulled one of the small golems and got three so they are social for sure.

I did this zone with me (57 cleric), 65 shammy, 65 SK, 60 necro and 60-ish pally. So the 7 levels restriction isn't there. We did the rat room, and none of them assisted. We just parked our butts right in the middle of them and killed singles.

Nice zone, nice exp, nice money. I'll be going back.

Went there this morning after reading the thread- really cool graphics (for EQ, lol), and I took lots of screen shots. However, as a 38 Ranger, it was not a good place to solo... It could be done, but even twinked I had much more downtime than I care for. I'll have to try and get a pick-up to go, and try it again. The loot was very nice, but after breezing through 38-40 at CC, I can't see how the loot could be any better than that.

Good post, though, thanks for bringing the "personal" LDoN to my attention :)
