56 war, Do I need upgrades?Follow

#1 May 21 2004 at 12:58 PM Rating: Default
Ok, I normally don't do things like this but I need some help. I have what I feel is a decently twinked warrior. However, I feel like his tanking ability is not where it needs to be. Can someone who knows tanks take a look at his profile and maybe give me some suggestions? Also, he is a 56 Agnostic Barb War.

Thanks for any and all help.

Yout gear is not bad at all, a couple of slots are a little weak but hard to replace if you have a low budget

in order of preferance i would replace

1. Cougar claw with Blood Earring of rage or Bloodmetal earring of engagement.
2. Mantle of steath with Kylong
3. Chokidia hide boots with Kingly boots of splendour.

Your weapons are ok but you might want to look at a Copper hammer of striking, but that personal preferance.

It shows your AC as 480 which i can't believe, could you post your HP/AC with Virtue and Temp that would give a good indication of your fighting stats.

Will do as soon as I get home, for some reason it must not be calculating correctly.

Also, I had a CHoS and found that I could keep aggro fine with just the SotBS and it's hate aug. Because of this I'm using the wand to try and absorb just a bit more damage. Every little bit of absorbtion helps (especially when we don't have a slower or have a druid healing)

Thanks for the help so far!

1. You might want to look into an off-hand weapon that has an aggro proc on it. This next stretch of level for warriors is a pain in terms of maintaining aggro.

2. Change the following gear to get HP:

Earring - Vah Shir
Head - Cobalt helm
Shoulder - Mantle of Stealth
Wrist - both bracelets (these can wait, maybe change them last)
Arms - Cobalt vambraces
Feet - Chardoki hide boots (nice HP on them, but crappy AC)
Hands - Cobalt gauntlets

You need to put in your skill levels to get some of the stats to show correctly. Without including your defense skill all it will show is base AC from the equipment you are wearing.

Updated profile using the auto profiler now that I have finally got it working again.

Also, I switched out the shoulders for a mantle of Distraction 10AC 7sta 35hp and some saves. I know it's not the best shoulder item but it was free and I only got 6k to work with atm. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the best boots in the game are crafted.

Given your budget, the elemental crafted stuff may be too much just now. But a pair of Fine Heraldic Boots would be a very useful upgrade and you may be able to get them made for you within your price range.

A pair of Tae Ew Plate Sleeves would be good as well.

Fine Heraldic Helmet and Fine Heraldic Bracers are worth considering as well.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I guess tonight I will get some kingly boots of splendor and start saving again. I think helm will be next to get swapped out then (after I do enough ldons to get a vision aug) unless I find a good deal on some arms. So far, only arms I saw were 60k and I don't have anything close to that kind of cash.

Hmm - I tried to take a look at your character on the link, and got message that "character does not exist or is private". I was going to see if I could offer any suggestions - but probably couldn't - am about the same level with Dyciere and having same challenges. Primarily that of holding aggro - my ranger does a lot better at that.

Another thought would be to get a good shoulder item, would be to go to POM, the first room into the castle has a treasure chest in the middle of the room, it is a a place holder, that can drop , the grand paldroms of study, is is good exp for your level plus it is an easy camp for some great shoulder items.

Other than that your boots could use a little upgrade.
