Rogue SkillsFollow

Hey all.

After debating all kinds of stuff about DPS in the past, I decided to try a dwarf/rogue. (Really - what other race would I be?) :)

My question is...skills like Pick Pockets and Pick Locks require pockets and locks to pick. Where can I find locked doors to practice on? Who can I practice picking pockets on? Who/what/where can I practice <insert other skills here>?

So you know, in my down time/healing time, I have been practicing hide and sneak.

Thanks in advance.

Befallen is your friend with Pick Lock. Train 11 points into it first though, then work on the first floor door. I think that door maxes you at 86 or so. I moved to W FP (ghetto section) and worked it up on a door there to 200. The Safehouse has a good list of the doors and their skill levels.

For pick pocket, I saved up my training points, and paid for it up to 197. It just takes forever to get skill improvements on it.

pick pockets does require a target but i tend to pick pocket mobs as i fight and split the money as i go along.

Further to that in LDoN's i like the rogue to be ML so that they can Pick pocket to thier hearts content.

the door in befallen is great for working all other skills though.

you need to click on the door with the pick locks to activate the skill so i stand in front of it cicking away and use a training hotkey for: disarm trap, sence trap, hide and sneak.

the door will get you too at least 200 <thats what mine is now and it's the only door i use>.

make sure you have your evade hotkey set up aswell.

Tarv is right the door in Befallen will take you as high as you want to go.

You can practise Disarm traps without a trap to disarm as I learned here recently. Put it on a movement button and although you get the "you have not detected any tramps" message you still get skillups. Sense Traps is the same.

I trained pickpocket to 198 outside combat. It isn't fast but you can set up a macro to do Hide, Sneak and traps at the same time

A friend of mine told me that picking the pockets of the gnome transporters is a great way to increase that pick pocket skill. I don't play a rogue however- He sits on the EFP dock, and picks that gnomes pockets. The gnome does not attack back if he fails, and there is no grief from being accused of stealing from fellow players. Fast/safe/no grief skillups.

I know from playing a bard sense traps and disarm traps I have on a hotkey and just tap them when I can and get skillups without a trap anywere in site. Pick locks as people above have stated befallen door works great.

The only useful thing you can pickpocket are your epic notes.

The few pieces of plat you collect on the way are only good for angry members in your group, who are cash starved and always jump the "Rogues pickpocket and that means the mob will drop less plat when it dies" bandwagon.

Sense and Disarm traps is useful for LDoN missions, though, so I'd recommend putting them on your movement keys.
