Augmentation & Ammo SlotFollow

I have a question about the Ammo Slot. I am sorry if it has been asked before yet, but I haven't been able to find a thread about this.

I just replaced my fishing grubs by a real item, and I noticed it has a type 7 augmentation slot. I heard some rumour that augmentations in the AMMUNITION SLOT do not have any effect, and if I look in Magelo I also can't select any augmentations.

Can anyone who has tried please confirm that it doesn't work, or tell that it (now) does? I'd like to know before I'm going to try to stick an aug in it. :P

You do NOT get stats from items in your ammo slot.

Every once in a while some rumor gets started that SOE changed it so you get the stats from your ammo slot, and up to now each of those rumors have been completely false.

It's the everquest version of an urban legend I guess, but no, you do not get stats from your ammo slot.
