Ah, it's not just me, then! I enter my username and password and click Login, and my mouse locks up! EQGAME then crashes about 10 seconds later. Well, at least I was able to level my BL to 19 earlier in the evening, so I guess the evening's not a total waste!
Yes, that quick-connect feature looks interesting. It will come in handy for me since I only play on Terris-Thule right now (a co-worker of mine is on that server)
I was able to get in to play this morning after spending 10 minutes remembering my login and password. Haven't tried the quick connect but the whole front end is pretty cool.

Yes, I had to click the SOE and rating screen, too. I thought it locked on me until I did this.
I also noticed a very sneaky thing SOE did on the login - I received a popup window stating (and I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact wording) that I have expansions that not all the files are downloaded for, and I should download them now or I will not be able to access the content for those expansions in the game.
On this same screen was what appeared to be a scroll-type ticker stating what expansions I have installed and which I don't. The only one I don't have installed is the new Omens of War.
I assume that if I had selected the box to download the "missing" expansion files upon next login, it would then download the Omens of War expansion. There was nothing in this box stating this, and I think this is a sneaky way of getting us to purchase this expansion.
If anybody did do this, please verify if this is the case or not.
I have all the expansions except for Omens as well and I did not get this popup.
Maybe it's not actually the evil corporation trying to scam you out of your hard earned dollars and instead it's just simply informing you that you don't have all the files downloaded.
Just the other day I did the "advanced", check all files thing. I did indeed have a few missing files that the download promptly took care of, but did not recieve the Omen's download or any such.

I received this and I did select the option. It merely restarted the patcher and downloaded about 3 zone's s3d files. Nothing more sinister than that
Love the quick login feature as nearly all my toons are on the same server.

I seen the same warning about missing files and blah blah and yes I thought the same thing, " Sony's tryin to pull a fast one" .
But now that I think of Standsinshadow's post I will down load the files. Maybe I am missing files someplace. I will edit my post afterwards to let you know.

Excellent, that's good to know. I didn't want to take the chance of doing the digital download thing. I know they're fairly worthless, but I do enjoy getting the bonus in-game items from the retail box.
I actually like it a lot. My cursor so far does't get stuck anymore. I had a problem with the caps lock, but it all of a sudden worked for some reason.
I think they did a real nice job on it. The design is clean and still provides a lot of detailed information and the texture is is beautiful, rich and smooth with a nice sheen to it. the scrolling line that tells you which expansions works fine for me and I love the new quick connect to last server feature.
All in all, a fine job and a nice upgrade.
And since I haven't experienced any of the problems detailed earlier in the thread, (knocks wood), I'll consider myself fortunate or at least Kharmacally balanced and go back to what I was doing!
Also, the GUILD button is gone, and with it the entire guild creation process used previously where you had to get 10 accounts into private chat and have each account issue #guildapprove etc etc
Since the button in the login is gone, you have to go to eqlive.station.sony.com and use the guild applications button on the right near the top.
Now all that appears to be needed is server name, guild leader name and email - however i suspect that the website based version is not yet complete. We shall see.
