MR Guild StartupFollow

#1 May 18 2004 at 8:23 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, didn't have the hoped for turnout Monday. No worries. Going to try again tonight. Just to makesure everyone is clear on what to do:

Login and start up as normal, but at the Server Select screen, hit the chat button at the bottom of the window. In the upper right of the screen, there is a window with the different servers and a general chat. Scroll to the bottom to find Aude Sapere. If you don't see it, just wait, I'll be on at 10pm EST tonight. If it is up, select to go into, the PW will be daretoknow.

Once 10 people are there (excluding myself), you all issue the command "#approveguild". once that's done, I'll do what I got to do.

Well, here's looking forward to a better turnout tonight. Take care yall. Smiley: grin

Everyone who is going to be at the startup tonight, please say so here, it'd be good to get a count before hand.

Cobra- I'm very glad you offered to help, we'll see what this thread looks like at the end of the day. Thanks.

I'll be there.

*edit- as to how many we where short, I'm unsure if the leader counts or not, if not we where short 4.*

I can be there to add another to get it all started. Also can bring on another account if we're just short.

I'll try to be there as well, but I can't make any promises. I said I was going to be there last night, and women troubles sprung up, so we'll have to see.

Gonna try to be there. My brother burned out his system and wants me to go with him to shop for the right components to put it all back together again, and as your 10pm is my 7pm, will hope to be back in time.

Well, unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it tonight either. I just got invited to a Cubs game, and there is no way I could pass this up. Sorry guys, good luck.

I am stuck out here on the West Coast and don't get off work till 8 or 9 PM my time which is 11 or 12 to you, so I can't possibly get to the computer and log on before you guys break it down. Wish I could help but the logistics are out of kilter. Good luck and I'll be there in spirit!

Well I was there for you but room never appeared. The new front end seems to have stopped guild formation in chat.

Apparently it is on website now

Well been hanging out for a little bit here... don't really see anyone around. The new chat thing blows really.. also don't see all the old commands either.

Guild start up even going to use chat now? I know they have the new way on the main page, but wasn't sure if it was active yet.

What I got in chat was "It's all done on the website now". I went to EQLive and there are options to create guilds but I couldn't see where to approve one.

You'll need to post the new procedure, Psychojester.

Does anyone know if PJ submited a guild app yet?
If not I will go ahead and do so just to get the ball rolling.
What do you guys think?
#17 May 19 2004 at 8:13 AM Rating: Decent
PJ did it last night, thanks again to every who showed up. It was kind of messy, considerably more so since I was afk most of the time and missed a lot of what was going on. I think things are well on their way though.

So how does it work now?

I had two machines that were in the old front end on the old chat server with guild button and guild formation rooms showing and one on the new front end with only server names and not even the "Stuck Character Room", let alone guild formation.

There were no GMs shown in the new chat and the only advice there was "It's not done here any more. Go to the website".

I did keep a watch on the old interface waiting for your guild name to appear but while one or two guild names went by it wasn't one of them. After about an hour I went back to bed but I couldn't sleep so a lot of poor harmless spiders were made to suffer. Smiley: smile.

Meanie Smiley: tongue

Spiders are not horrible. What are far worse are ants, mice and flies.

/carries her 'freedom and lifeto spiders' banner down the street.

I reserve the right to be freaked out by HUGE spiders lurking in my bath though. Those DO deserve to swirl down the plughole /nod

Sorry guys...I wasn't there either. Too much RL stuff going on. I'm glad that everything worked out though from what it sounds like. Do I need to do anything else at the moment or is everything good to go?

I second what Lady said, do I need to do anything else?
Also has anyone talked to PJ to find out how long this process takes after filling out a guild app?

Are there any specific classes you folks need? My characters are on the EMarr server, but I'd be more than happy to create an alt on MR to help out.

Cool! For fun I made an Erudite Necromancer named Marres. He's level 4 now. Also have a level 1 Iksar warrior and a Gnome enchanter. If you need assistance, just send Marres a tell.
