I'm nowhere near an expert on Paladins but if you were to try to solo it would most likely need to be undead mobs. At 37 you could try the beach in Gunthak. Plenty of undead there and it is currently a hotspot so you will get an xp bonus. I have also heard of a graveyard in Katta but am not sure of the level. You may need to further look into that.

I would suggest a duo or small group at the beach in Gunthak. Currently you should have no trouble finding a group there. Also you could duo there with a cleric or necromancer easily. Cleric may even get a jump on their Temp quest and can heal/nuke. Necro at 39+ can slow the undead mobs and your own healing would be more than enough with a 50% slowed mob.

You have a point but only after level 51, up untill then pally's are quiet capable of soloing and are probably the best or near the best at soloing casters untill 50+

Gayle:
at 37 try the mines in Teneb mountians or the undead pyramid in DL then in the low -mid 40's move to the Katta zoneline in Teneb or Echo caverns.

Also at 45 make sure you get a deepwater helm.

but be prepared to admit defeat on the soloing front because Sick is right once to hit the mid 50's.

yeah in some situations pallies can solo ok, but as with most tank types the downtime just isnt worth it and grping is the best option. however i do know a few pallies who are AWESOME and can solo in pop at least as well as i can (being a druid) but they are the exeption being that they are in time capable guilds and have like 10k hp and FT15.

My pallys is 46, but it has been quite a while since I played him a lot. Pre LDON, my pally's solo spots were S. Kar (Aviaks & Splitpaw gnolls), and upper floors and basement in Unrest (where you can solo into your 40's). I also camped the 2 corrupt guards at the tower near the Barbarian camp in my early 40s (quest from the Guard Capt on the bridge tower near the Wizard Spires) in N. Kar (West ? - LOL can never remember which is which).

Tarv is right, pallys can solo into their 40's, but it becomes more and more difficult - I remember thinking I could take a Sand Giant that conned white in Oasis in my 30's ... Loading, please wait.

Having said that, pallys are great in groups and most of my mid 50s LDON groups with my 55 chanter have had pallys as pullers (even if they are not MT) due to abiilty to pacify and handle resists.

IMHO - pallies have the ability to solo levels 45-55 (especially equipped with KEI), however the XP grind is so extremely slow and monotonous that it really isn't a great deal of fun. This is particularly true if the mob is still in the 30s but still as dark/light blue. The tedium can drive you nuts....but it can be done.

Well, I leveled my paladin (solo) in Lower Guk from level 35-ish to 51. I don't play him much anymore, but I think I could eke out a couple of levels more down there if I really wanted to.

Try it out, you might like it. Personally, I'm in love with the zone. At level 37, do the entrance-to-bedroom frogs, and move further in as you level. Remember that soothe is your friend.

My pally is currently 47 and I soloed most of his high 30s on to 47 in Gunthak and Dulak. Most recently I was soloing the cyclopses in OOT with him. He's a bit of a twink though.

It really is in your best interest to try to get into groups, especially at higher levels. You'll gain exp faster and you'll be able to take camps with a group that you just wouldn't be able to do solo.

I would say that Gunthak should be good soloing for you at your current level. Work on getting your ethereal cleansing spell from the quest in that zone. It's got the best heal/mana ratio of any heal spell you will ever have in the game, and will dramatically improve your ability to solo over time. With KEI and that spell, you certainly can solo quite well.

At 45, get yourself a DW helm. Head to the Katta graveyard. Load up IoN, and your usual line of self buffs and just go to town. With the DW helm, you don't need KEI to manage a decent kill rate (which is good since Katta is quite a distance from where you could get one). What I did was toss IVU on myself and run around the GY. The area is littered with traps that will cause an undead mob to spawn. The trap can see you whether you are invised to undead or not, but the undead cannot. Once you've got a spawn, target it, run back to either the entrance gate or the building doorway, and pull it with a low level stun. The mobs don't trigger the traps, so there's no chance of a getting more then one if you do it this way. Just fight the mob without using any spells, and then use the DW helm to heal yourself after the fight. It's a pretty darn efficient way to solo. I was getting about a 3rd of a blue per kill back in the day, and it only took a couple minutes per kill (including heal time afterwards). Not a stunning exp gain rate by some classes standards, but still quite respectable.

heh LVL 65 Pally here on Mith Marr, have soloed at least 63 of my 65 lvls and done 75% of VT, VP and 100% of HS keys, I currently solo in PoI, PoJ, PoD, PoN zones easily. I do not belong to a guild and have gotten all flags in PU raids (still need RZ, three SolRo Minis and SolRo for EP, so I think I am doing pretty good solo even though the max mobs in these zones I can do are 56. Sure the XP's are slow but I am now doing about 1 AA a day in PoJ.

Officially Gulf of Gunthak. It's the first area of the LoY expansion. It's a little off the beatten path so many players forget it's there. The whole place has a pirate theme that's sort of a nice change from the rest of Norrath.

The zone is pretty nice from 40-50 and maybe a little earlier if you have a group.

When you arrive you will see a lighthouse that's a safe area with a bank and merchants. If you swim across the water you will come to a beach area full of undead. They hit pretty hard for their level but very managable, few runners and well spaced so multiple pulls are rare. There are a few non-undead mobs on the beach but easily avoided for cleric and pallies.

If the beach isn't for you there is a fort about half way through the tunnel to Dulak. There the MoBs are mostly live and drop some nice loot but are harder to single pull and crowd control is neccessary for groups at the level when the area is most promising.

The tunnel is lousy with MoBs that have horrendous regen rates(drogmors) and are way underconned. Avoid it if you can.

The last section of Gunthak is a city area with Luggalds and various humanoids. Reasonably spaced and soloable but by the time you can do this area you would be better off moving on to Dulak.

May not be as good for pallys (i believe they lack snare and/or root) but Sol B got me great exp from 43 to 50 and can definetly be done from about 37 with buffs. 46 and the addition of virtue to your ******* along with many other buffs makes soloing in Sol B a breeze till around 52. (gets slow at 50 but is still better than most places of that level that can be soloed)
