I don't know your qualification for saying that.

The original FoS was formed from these boards from people who were burned out playing at the high end and wanted to apply that raiding skill to the opposite end of the game. It worked very well for a long while and was good fun. I learned an awful lot. The people were mostly very skilled with the odd newbie like me thrown in.

This new idea on MR seems to be totally different. For a start it isn't looking to raid, and many of the people are relatively new to the game. It is more about community and mutual help than outright progression as far as I can see. No doubt in time and a few levels they will want to raid something but that is all in the future. FoS was raiding the Warrens almost from day one.

The only thing that DoA shares with FoS is being formed on these boards. And possibly the odd ex-FoS member.

ok slow your roll pal. no need to go and slam a guild i used to belong to and have very fond memories from. We were never "Oooba Wannabee's" (as you so eloquantly put it Smiley: rolleyes) we were just like you. allthough abit more mature i think. Allahs message board brought people together from different servers to one single server and "Followers of the Stars" was born. you should take my comment as a complement. you say FoS wasnt about haveing fun? please. FoS was ALL ABOUT FUN. All about takeing down targets with as few people as possible and as many corpses as needed.

now i wasnt around when FoS first started up so i cant tell you about any of that. but i was there in its second incarnation and allso guilded with SoC after the split. all i can do is tell you that those 2 guilds got me haveing fun playing EQ again after 55+ levels of monotany.

anyways.. GL on your Allahs Deciples....

Hehehe, I was around when FOS first started...just yanking a chain to see how many links fell. Smiley: grin

I remember Smasharoo and his "Let's kill the whole zone" pulls among a few other things.

But really, to label this group as FOS 2.0, dimishes it a bit and tarnishes the luster of something new and exciting.

So let's not go labeling it before it has even formed. To do so seems a bit condencending and thus lessens slightly the new and wonderful feeling that these people are now feeling on forming a new guild from the people on this board.

Let's have a name to go with that memory then. Or do you just mean you remember the reports posted here?

I do agree that comparison between DoA and FoS is spurious and irrelevant. They are two very different things starting from and apparently proceeding in different directions.

However I didn't see the need to be rude about FoS in the process.

I like Draco Tempestas and Seekers of Knowledge in that order.

Point of clarification then.....

the only comparison i ment by the "FoS v2.0" comment was the comonality of both starting on the Allakhazam Message Board

Well, I am not going to fan the fires any further over the whole thing, just gonna let it die a natural death and as any apology I give for my expressed opinion, would be seen as either weakness on my part, or as being insincere...I don't think I will be making one.

However, back to the subject at hand.

I do see where a Chanter would be of great benefit to the group, as CC is always a good thing to have about. Not to mention Slows/Hastes/Clarity along with their damage abilities.

Also a good beefy tank would be helpful, not to do disservice to any of the fair Rangers I have grouped with as you are doing an admirable job, but a good meat sheild is a Rogue's best friend Smiley: bowdown

From the MR names thread (did not want to clutter it up)

Quote:
Sorakor - 7 cleric
jakan - 2 warrior
teppen- 1 druid

(already creating alts, what's wrong with me?)

It is amazing how HARD it is to keep from making alt's myself. I have the mulie one, and am trying to hold myself to just that one.

And technically, that would make this a "Tenkei v3.0"...

Since I kow absolutly nothing about FoS or SoC, could someone give me a short history lesson? Most importantly, I assume they no longer exist, what happened?

In. Davis is my Warrior on MR. Dubadak is my Shaman. Both are at 6th lvl, so which ever will help the most is fine by me.

I'm another one that will have to be a part-timer. My main charecters and guild are on Stromm, and I don't want to just drop that. That being said I should still be able to get on MR 2-3 days a week.

That was the guild on Saryrn that preceded FoS and also included some people from this board. Long before my time.

So you imply you were there but won't substantiate it, gratuitously insult people and won't apologise. Apology is not weakness. You show both weakness and cowardice by your behaviour.

I think I have made the right decision. You are not the kind of person I'd be happy sharing a tag with.
