Hey yall! Smiley: grin

Here's the first update:

Went to the EQLive addy and submitted a guild request there. One snag. Morden Rasp wasn't listed among the servers, so I selected Test Server. So I clicked the link to view it, but got a page that said the site was being updated. Hopefully, this means that they are adding it.

Anyway, I submitted the name Disciples of Allakhazam, since that seems to be the one most of us are agreeing upon.

Next, we need to schedule a time to meet so we can do the chat server stuff. Again, I'm off Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. I'm on EST. Early afternoon to late night is good for me. Also, as far as the chat server stuff goes, anyone know how to get into it? I feel kinda bad not knowing and you all wanting me to be guild leader. That brings up another subject which I will discuss at the end of this update.

Third is the subject of who will be officers. I feel it only fair for all of us founding members to be officers, since the responsibility will also fall on us to recruit. I feel another logical step is to appoint those at the initial meeting as officers. I'll leave it up to everyone to decide the course of action.

Part of the process dictates we must have a charter. I've come up with this:

The Disciples of Allakhazam feel it is their duty in Norrath to help those who seem lost and confused. We are dedicated to showing all new adventurers the wonderous beauty and awe-inspiring wonder that the many lands have to offer. While fun and relaxation are stressed first and foremost, we will help advance those that seek the excitement of that ever-elusive "next level." We must all remember the Golden Rule: Knowlege is Power.

Okay. What I was going to say is that I'll gladly accept being Guild Leader and promise you that I won't have a power trip. But please realize Saryrn is still my main server as are my toons on there my main toons. However, I will promise yall to spend equal time. Eventhough I do have screwy hours. Smiley: jester

All-in-all, I'm stoked about this. Joining Ethereal Sisterhood was huge, and this is quickly surpassing it. See yall around. Smiley: grinSmiley: jester

PS: Of course, the name won't be finalized until I get permission from Alla himself. Only the right thing to do, ya know?

I took the liberty of throwing this together with a few mouse clicks:
http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=15391&TabID=129880

Of course if anyone doesn't like it, it can be revamped in any extreme.

I more than likely will not be able to get on at all until after 10pm est for any scheduled chat server stuff no matter what day of the week it is.
RL stuff, you gotta take care of that first. :)

Hope that doesn't affect my standing in guild (officer wise or any other) if I'm unable to make (or late) to the initial chat meeting.....that is if that is the way you plan on deciding officers and so forth as stated before.

54 days to go huh? Congrats!!
That is if this is your wedding you are talking about. ;)

Lady: I know how you feel, I have to put the kids to bed, crate the dog and the wife ( hehe just kidding )em/clears throat, ummm wait for my wife to go to bed and then I'm online for a few hours.

Hopefully we can get everything in order, up and running in no time.
I think this is going to be a nice outlet from all the usual xp grinding on whatever other server you play on and allow all of us some time to relax and have fun.

PS: If we need to do this on Sunday afternoon I may be able to swing something but not likely.

I'm way over here on the left ummmmm... errrr... I mean West Coast so any time Sunday is fine for me. Your 10PM is my 7PM so 7PM PDT it is!

Oh yeah, Mulamen - love what you've done with the place! Great job.

Jester - Nice job on the charter. You got all serious and sh*t! You rock!

One last point... How do you guys feel about asking one or more of the more experienced guildies to act as *spiritual advisors* to keep those clueless among us (like me) up to speed regarding how to do all this guild type stuff?

I may make a character on Morden Rasp, but alas my time sink is The Seventh Hammer.

Edit.
I would even volunteer for PL experiments! What race/class should I be?

Dot - I don't think that we have a Bard yet.

Also, I have a character on The Seventh Hammer Wood Elf Ranger "Rhaiyne". She's only lvl 7 right now, but send me a tell sometime when I eventually get higher up. Unfortunately, I'm the opposite though, my time sink has been MR instead of 7th.

How about we call ourselves "The Seekers" or alternately "Seekers of Knowlege", if as you say "Knowledge is power". Also as there are alot that are coming on for the first time, I think this would apply to most of the guild.

Correct OldBlue BESIDES Portamento, we don't have a bard...I figured that you'd be playing with Moriarty most of the time, but of COURSE I did not mean to exclude Portamento. My apologies Smiley: bowdown

I'm torn now...

The three that I like best are (in order):

1)Seekers of Knowledge
2)Dazed and Confused
3)Draco Tempestas (Dragon's Fury)

What if we did something like "Disciples of Zam" instead of "Disciples of Allakhazam". That way we would all know what it meant, but we would not have to deal with any legal issues. Heck, we could even go with "Disciples of ALZAM" to keep the whole "DOA" thing going on. Just a thought. Not the same as the original I know, but hey, thought I'd throw it out there.
