Hey Gang,

I would like to see Allakhazam used in the guild name somehow other than that whatever anyone wants it find by me. I will be making a toon along with my son to be in the guild. I probably won't play it regularly maybe once a week or so but hey who knows it may just take over all my other interests. A casual guild is fine by me due to my play habits.

Now my question is this......what toon will best help the guild. Since my play time is limited I would like to leave out caster's due to spell consumption and research. Give me some idea's and I will surely be glad to give it a try. I believe my son will be coming over as a Beastlord. He probably will play more than me cause he has more time than me!!!

He also doesn't act like a child but if you see him do so just give me a shout.

I'm thinking SK low spell usage and I can finally do the Dark Elf thing.

Well I finally logged on to MR last night and created a DE (I know, I know but I like DE's) warrior by the name of Raique.
Unfortunately I did not have time to level him at all last night but I hope to do so tonight as well as work on him some this weekend.
I like the DoA idea for a guild name as well ...seems fitting since it was formed here.

What is the current level of most of the toons on the list so that I will have an idea of how much catching up I will need to do?

I will log on either tonight or tomorrow morning and make my DE whatever. Probably an SK unless someone convinces me otherwise. I will post my name so someone can find me and help me get out of Neriak !!! LOL

Can I join in as well? Sounds like a fun group! I have a lvl 20 cleric on MR. Her name is Mandie. I'm a casual player, so a couple nights a week if that's ok.

The guild would be for us all on Allakhazam is my understanding and clerics are always wanted!

I think I might go ahead and create a Necro as well.
Never played one but I bet it would be a blast.
According to the list of toons above we have a few meat sheilds as well as the Ranger and Mage thing covered at least for now so what other classes would be a help to the new guild?
Shaman maybe or Druid?
Played a little of both so if either one of those or any other class besides Necro would help just let me know.

I have a human cleric of Bertoxxoulous named Sodile on the server. I can't promise constant attendance or anything since my main characters are on Saryrn (that and I'm playing City of Heroes these days as well with folks from another forum) but I'd still like to get in on this.

Great! Count me in then! Is there a chat channel set up, at least until the guild is formed?

Absolutely welcome! The community here at Allah's has proven itself to be a rich and diverse group full of robust and knowledgable players. This fits the primary criteria I have for choosing which players I want to group with.

The Honorable Dracoid noted:

(a casual fun loving guild) dosent stay up for long, iv'e witnessed fun loving friends hit high levels and leave for raiding guilds, with things like "you are all on my friends list" i know it dosent seem like that now, but 1-2 years down the line...

As far as 1 or 2 years down the line, I really can't see that far along... at the moment, I'm much more concerned with getting my first character to 20! But if I had to guess, I'd say that my playing *needs* will remain unchanged. I don't see myself ever transitioning out of the *casual player* stage. After all, I do this to relax... I don't need another high pressure enviornment... I have a job for that!!!

To sum it up, I think I would be far more likely to leave a guild because IT changed than because I did...

But that's just me...
(edited because I forgot to include what I REALLY wanted to say)

I personally am looking for that high raiding guild I think my previous posts have shown that. But there are days that after work I need to just relax. Saturday mornings typically on EQ I fumble around unproductive so if there is a place to go and grab some fun, chat a bit and relax that would be a great start to a weekend for me.

I have already heard the skeptic voice from a play friend when I told him about this "casual guild". He has given me the run down of guild officer, climbing levels etc. But personally I think there is time for both. I have never played an alt to any level because I hate to play alone. Josettee has always grouped, so this will be good for me. I can come on and always have a group, if not I can go play Josettee.

1-2 years is along time in EQ terms, even more so now with the expansions coming thick and fast.

if the guild survives to the point that people are leaving to join raiding guilds at 60+ then i think it has done it's job.

i chat channel would be a good start, for those that are unaware starting a chat channel is pretty easy just decide on a name i.e Alla, then type /join Alla.

to speak in the chat channel you have to select it as the default channel in you text box in the same way as selecting 'group' as default.

Personally, I don't have any worries about this casual guild. Casual guilds that go wrong are usually started by somebody just trying to make a name for themselves or to have some sort of power trip. I think the purpose of this guild is to keep all of us easily accesible to each other. It will probably take quite some time for any of us to even get to a point where we can think about raiding, so that hasn't even entered my head as of yet... unless we're planning a carrion spider raid in EK anytime soon :).

By the way, when we get the details sorted out I can get us a website up and going, so let me know.

Your best first move would be to set up a chat channel. This can be done now and establishes a medium for people to keep in touch. You need to give it a password to keep it persistent.

And while I'm not sure of my plans in the long run I'm perfectly happy to help you form it if you need the numbers (although it looks like you're doing pretty well here).

I was just thinkin' about that very thing... (sick minds think alike, no?) Anyway, a Yahoo group might be a good way to go. It's free to set up and run and has built in message board and chat. All everyone has to do is have or start a Yahoo screen name, (also free). What did you have in mind?
