I have read that soloing the Katta graveyard is the place to be for mid 50's Necros. Any ideas the fastest running route from POK? Also I am going to assume I will be KOS in the city and need to invis to get through it to the graveyard any idea for sure? If I take a Monk I am gonna assume he is not KOS in the city ideas on that one? Last the Monk will be KOS to the yard trash in the graveyard but not me right?

Anyone with Katta experience please give me as much info as possible I would like to head there tonight.

Thanks,

Katta is KOS to evil dieties, not necessarily evil races. If you worship Cazic or Innoruuk, for example, you are kos. Except for the invisible coterie assassins and undead, nothing sees through regular invisibility. I would keep see invis on so you can spot the assassins if they spawn (I believe there are 4 possible assassin spawn points, but they are rare).

I have seen level 40 pallys soloing in the graveyard, so I think that that might be a little too easy and too few spawns for a mid-50 necro. I have duoed in the bank area as a low 50 SK with a 50+ necro and you might want to look here for better exp. You will need to learn the pull pathing and fear pathing by trial and error. You can single pull the twin guards (there are many sets of 'twins' flanking the doors/arches at exactly lvl 57. Till then you'll need to initially split via dark/feign death. Once you have it down and the twins split, you can single pull continuously till you drop from exhaustion. Be careful exactly where you fear them, they can path in different directions (towards the courtyard) if you do it too close to the back wall.

There is only one roamer guard in the bank area, he comes out of the arch from the direction of the vendor house on the Twilight Sea side. He is on the same spawn timer as the guards.

Generally, we found this strategy to work best:

Pull one with darkness, take behind merchant building to far end, Fear and allow to path towards archway. If you can't kill in one pass, let him follow you back when fear wears off, and re-fear. You do not want to let him get to the archway or you will have adds. If you have low DPS, you will have to re-dark or he will run for the archway and it will be all over.

The people in the merchant building will not aggro you unless you enter the building... you can sit right behind the wall safely.

There is one other glitch in the zone you should be aware of: once every couple hours, the zone re-pops. If you are fighting at the time, that mob poofs and respawns with no aggro. All guards that are currently alive will re-pop. Dead guards will not re-spawn however, so you don't have to break the spawn again. You just lose the one you were fighting.

The guards hit (me) for max 117 and start going light blue at 58 I think.

As I recall, the three running routes are:
Nexus - Shadowhaven - Padual - Hollowshade - Grimmling Forest - Ten. Mountains - Katta

Nexus - Netherbian Lair - Maru - Mons Letais - Grey - Scarlet Desert - Twilight Sea - Katta

Nexus - Shadowhaven - Echo Caverns - Fungus Grove - Twilight Sea - Katta

I find the last one to be the least annoying, though FG will require invisibility and the zone is into the mage tower where you might be KoS. For some reason I think I'm missing a zone between Hollowshade and Grimmling in #1, but I can't think of what it'd be.

Nope. Hollowshade connects with Grimling Forest.

I second the last route Jophiel listed. It's a bit spooky the first time through but once you know the route it's probably the safest and easiest.

Bare with me while I get my bearings .... LOL

Will this route work or am I missing a zone? Sha Vahl portal in POK to the city and through it to Hollowshade Moor. (I am told the Kitties love everyone even Necros!!!! It is about time!) Then onward to Grimling Forest straight to Tenebrous Mountains and then into the main entrance of Katta?

Question on invis.....how many people are in this town incase it fails? Is there a chance for survival? Necro gathering shadows either sticks forever or never sticks long feast and famine.

About fighting within the city? I know in Queynos if you start a fight in the city every guard this side of Mexico shows up instantaneously. I am assuming from the post that is not the case in Katta? I know in Freeport on the docks I killed a guy working on my epic and the Freeport people didn't seem to care much other than the guy's drinking buddies.

I am trying to find a decent place to solo when grouping is hard to find. I have spent some time in Maiden's Eye working over the Garonga's but it takes forever to kill them one at a time. In the end the experience is so slow that it becomes boring and frustrating.

I know the way to go in ME is to charm the skellies but for me that is a bit risky since charm drops so often and always at the worst times!

Katta is a very cool zone. I did a few levels on my Pally there (fear kited the graveyard undead). Lots of necros worked that zone while I was there... hunting guards (heh, so if you are not KoS now.. you will be!). Lots of good hunting spots.. just watch other necros work for a while and you will pick it up fast.

BEST way to get to Katta. Pay a Wizzard to TL you or a Druid/Wizzy to port you to the Twilight Sea. 10 or 15 pp is fine for a TL and you can make that back quickly by selling the weapons that drop. The 15 minute time savings and reduced chance of getting killed traveling is well worth it. My Pally NEVER ran there.

Inother words, bind in PoK. Get TL to TS. Gate back when you need to sell or get fresh KEI (if needed).. rinse and repeat.

That route will work. Some mobs in Grimling Forest used to see invis (sonic manglers) and they may still be there after the revamp. Many mobs see invis in Tennebrous... the sonic wolves can not be snared or feared. I would say it is difficult at best to run through Tenebrous and still be invis when you get to Katta (where there are several guards at zone out). Personally I prefer the route through Fungus Grove.

The mobs in Katta have normal aggro range based on your level. They are spaced out at reasonable distances in general, and you should be able to re-invis before you get aggro if you pay attention. I suggest taking your druid alt (any non-kos alt) in for a look around before you make the run with a kos character. If fungus grove is also an issue, take a pre-level 10 character in (bound in ShadowHaven ;) and look around to find the best route through to Twilight Sea. It is possible to walk through fungus grove with no invisibility if you choose your steps carefully. The mushrooms in FG are the primary mob to avoid, but it is the hard to spot Lotus that you will want to note the locations of also. The Shadel Bandits and Shiknar are not KoS (I am not sure of the bandit faction to others). The people in the Twilight Sea castle are on opposing faction to the elementals on that island. If you start out KoS to the TS castle you can kill elementals till you are dubious.

Katta does not offer better experience than you will find elsewhere. Before level 56, Dulak will get you the same or better exp solo (Dulak and all LoY zones are supposedly on the 'hot spot' list for better experience). After 58 Katta is going to be painfully slow exp. After 56, Nurga is a place you might consider for root-rotting, even fear kiting. You don't seem to be looking for PoP zone suggestions and I couldn't give you any anyway. I'd also suggest doing a forum search for 'necro' and 'veksar' since it was recommended recently.

In the mid 50's, everywhere you go is going to provide you painfully slow experience. I don't think you can get around that.

Personally, I don't like the graveyard. I camped on main level along the wall next to the tavern across from the bank. I went from 57 to 60 there. The pathing is far better there than up near the graveyard.

I would offer a bit more for a druid port if thats the way you go, as they actually have to port with you and then port back.

Oh I forgot to mention that a druid can make your trip a whole lot quicker with Succor after the port

Now all we need is a Sacrifice spell that doesn't need consent when cast on druids, then we can rez ourselves with ease :)
