In the raids where pet classes are told to kill their pets bst seem to be allowed to keep theirs I do not get this since a mage pet is far supperior to the bst pet in life damage and just about everything else. You can chain cast/suspend a mage as well. Also the mages have pet hold btw so it wasn't a question of agroing the wrong mob.

It seems the BSTs in your guild just don't know how to follow instructions. :x It would make no sense to keep them up and not any other pet... But ask 'em next time, maybe they have a reason. I don't think so though.

Not necessarily. With some encounters, pet push can be a big problem and bring the whole thing undone.
misspoke. What I meant was it wouldn't be said for mages to kill pets and bsts not to, ti would be said for anyone with out pet-hold to kill pets (or, yes, in same cases anyone. but there is no reason for mages to kill pets when bsts don't)
I have been told it's b/c mage pets push more than anything else in the game.
Still boggles my mind though :( mages pets rock I love duoing my wizzy with my mage friend we can take out almost any mob :)

there are plenty of higher raid level encounters that if there is to much push you get adds and a load of CR. thus all /pet go away is standard for those encounters.
this would/should include the BL pet too. heck IMHO BL pets push as much if not more so then mage pets. that is except air pets as that is their attack. pushing stun.
