I have a question about researching spells over 51+. I tried researching pillar of frost using the sor lexicon the rune of gale, rune of prexus, parchment, and quill. but i get a message stated something to the effect of i am using the wrong item to combine this. what am i doing wrong?

The combine for all LoY research recipes must be done in the research book obtained at the lighthouse in gunthak - I think it is called the sorcerer's lexicon for wizards. You can't do these combines in the normal research book.

If you used the right book, all I can think of was you had something stacked, had something in your hand, or used the wrong parchment/quill... The recipe you stated is correct according to eqtraders.com.
