I do not think the changes will have the effect you think. The only way the regen will help is to sit and heal. Pallys can cast a heal...which takes effect instantly. Much better than sitting and cannot be compared.

This is only to support warriors and rogues when they solo or group with non healers classes. This in no way moves a pally out of a role.

Just from my own experience....

My main is a Wizzy. I have found that a the best tanks for him are Pallys. He almost never get argo when they tank. In some cases, I nuke at like 95 percent mob health and still dont get argo from them. I play regularly with some pretty darn good warriors, and nuking before the mob is below 90 percent is almost always instant argo. Furthermore, a good Pally can add significant DPS to a group battling undead mobs.

Well, I have read what the regen difference was at lvl 25 (the testbuffed lvl) for monks. The difference amounted to almost a 2hp/tic increase... at lvl 25. +2hp extra? That means nearly nothing.

Awwww man. Look, after going through 20 levels w/a slow regen, *any* increase was terrific. I noticed after the last patch I no longer regen as quick as before the patch.

Eh, easy come but it sucks to go...

Although my pally is still at 47 (oldest character but been playing my chanter mostly lately), my 54 chanter plays regularly with higher pallys and our groups love to have them - don't think the quicker health regen will matter in LDON groups when time is a factor.

It appears to me that in EQ that different classes progress at different rates and that adding a particular spell line (upgrade) makes a huge difference more than just leveling. I know that getting C2 was a huge improvement over c1, worth a lot more than just the extra Hp and mana by moving up 1 more level. I get a couple new spells every level from 52 on up for example. My mez line works up to level 55, but I assume I will eventually get to a point where I will get higher levels that I can't mez until I get my next upgraded spell which will impact my value to the group.

Part of the interesting thing about EQ to me is that there really isn't an uber class from level 1 to 65 but that different ones shine at different levels.

I seem to recall a thread not to far back from Warriors complaining about how tough it was to tank since pallys could always get agro back with stun but they couldnt and basically questioning why anyone would choose warrior over pally, etc.

Right now Pallys and Bards are the preferred pullers in mid 50's LDONs but looks like that may change at higher levels, so someone else gets a chance to shine for a few levels until 62 or so if I read the posts right. Not a bad thing in my book or we would all be pallys (chanters, bards, etc) instead of having to learn to play with different classes and Adapt.

Besides, Dwarf Pallys Rule LOL.

After every minute of sitting the regen increases. I believe at level 65 that the increase is 12hp of regen every minute so that after 5 minutes of sitting you would have increased your regen rate by over 50hp/tick. It will make a difference without trivializing regen items and hybrid heals.

I do believe that necromancers and shamans will be the only classes ecstatic about this regen. Anything to help counteract lich and cannibalize is good.

You won't get the regen rate increase with a dot on you, this includes any form of lich. Also, since you have to be sitting for at least a minute before seeing any large increase in the regen rate I don't think it will really be that big of a boost for shaman.
