where can i find 'one bone chip'? is it different than the plural 'bone chips' that skeletons drop? and is it possible for a warrior to buy and use magic at all?
Thanks,

I got immediate help from Kao...who also told me in no uncertain terms to register:

It depends on the context used. There are some quest only bone chips out there, or this could just be a single bone chips. Is this for a quest?

Warriors can use magic to a certain degree by aquiring magical items and potions. Most of these will probably be out of your immidiate budget, but head up to the bazaar and look around to see what is available, or ask a friendly Shaman.

If you like the melee aspect but also want to be able to cast spells, I would highly reccommend starting a ranger alternate carachter, or alt. You won't get any spells until 9, but once you do get them, things get very fun. You basically trade off some durability for spells and usefull utility features like tracking.

By the way, if you get a chance, you may wnat to register for the forum here. It's free and doesn't take too long.

I'm guessing that you are looking for a 'bone chip' for your newbie quest armour , if so they drop off the skellies in the newbie area around Halas and yes they are also called 'bone chips', Can often be purchased at the merchants at the top of the ramp as well.

So yes, I agree the curve is very steep!

Ore conversion

Remember that all fine steel weapons can be converted to ore -- very handy for smiths, and often cheaper or easier to obtain. Sure, they're crappy weapons for high-end players -- but they're loaded with oh-so-good metal. =)

Mine is lost to time on the uBB forums, old enough that it's not even archived there any longer. As I recall, it was a plea for help and advice (go figure). Some caster invited me to go with him to the mermaid island in OoT and hunt. After about a half hour, he said he had to go and gated out, leaving me stranded. My first character, I had no idea about EQAtlas or what I might find in the water if I tried to swim (or where I could swim to and was feeling rather despondant. I got some good advice on how to do the "boat scoop" and an offer from Cogmatix to port me off if it still didn't work.

I'm not sure if that was my first first post, but it had to be close to it since I didn't play that paladin for very long.

I fear my first post is also lost to time :( But it was a plea for help on ethics no less. My very first day playing I managed to accidently lose several thousand PP worth of someones items in a transfer gone horribly wrong. He accused me of stealing it and i felt awful, I thought I had ruined my EQ reputation forever.

In Bestiary (sic) under Priest Amiaz: Rare Spawn
Posted @ Tue, Nov 7th 2:13PM 2003

I just recently camped for this guy with my level 27 Iksar monk. Like others have, I killed the placeholder for several spawns and kept the area where he spawns clear of mobs. It was best to keep all the nearby necros cleared as well, since they like to throw heals on mobs who run near them. So I got the idea: Kill ALL the necros that pop inside the secret wall area, even the ones not particularly close. There are maybe 3 or 4 spawn points inside the secret wall area where necros spawn. Maybe it was a coincidence, but as soon as all the necros inside the secret area were dead, Amiaz popped! Dropped the wand.
I did manage to get the Marnek dagger along the way as well as some caster robes. Another tip when fighting necros: once they are dead, FD and their pet will poof. Enjoy.

Faction building details
Posted @ Tue, Nov 11th 1:00PM 2003
By: Dothammer

This has probably been discussed at length but please indulge for me or anyone new to EQ and the faction process.

When you take faction hits for completing a quest or killing a
NPC, are all faction hits equal?

The reason I ask is, I have an angnostic gnome enchanter. All of the gnome quests that raise caster faction, either raise the goods and lower the evils or the opposite. If the faction hits were unequal it would be possible to raise both (or lower both). Anyone know for sure? Otherwise I will pick one group and go for it. I don't mind doing endless, mindless killing/quests to get what I want (it is Everquest after all!) which is to get faction as high as possible with both groups.
I have an Iksar non KoS to Freeport/Highhold so I am no stranger
to tedium...

Any suggestions or thoughts? Especially with faction hits for killing NPCs.
