It's me...need help again please. I've seen in several threads over the past couple of days references to "Auto" this and "Auto" that such as forage. I'd like to know how to do this please. I've been trying to increase my skill level in forage and it's a pain in the *** trying to remember to click forage every 30 seconds or so.

Make a macro for foraging...

Pull up the actions window
Right click and assign forage to an open slot
Go to the socials tab, right click an open slot...
/doability # (whichever # the slot was where you assigned forage above)
/pause 10
/autoinventory
Make this social a hotkey
Alt-O
Keyboard tab
Macro tab
Whichever hotkey you assigned your forage social to, click the
---- under alternate and then press the key you want to link it to (I use my left turn key)

**If you play multiple characters this will automatically do whatever ability is assigned to the hotkey # of the current page which you assigned your forage social to...Just click the alternate key that you assigned and hit esc to make it return to

/pause 1 works for me.

Also, do not take lightly the fact that the macro will follow all of your alts and do whatever is in that hotkey when you, for example, turn left. I learned this the hard way a long time ago when, on an orc fang turn in in Qeynos, I hit the left arrow and kicked the NPC...who proceeded to kick my butt to the floor.

LOADING...Please wait

LOL Yes! I autoforage and link it to my up arrow, my husband was playing and wondering why he kept hiding every time he tried to go forward LOL....beware and leave that open for all alts that don't forage :)

I considered setting up this macro for my ranger and decided against it feeling that if I couldn't remember to hit the forage button then it meant that the character couldn't remember to look around for stuff.

I have slowly, over the last few levels, trained myself to do a visual check of that button whenever I'm about to click on something else. It's downright Pavlovian, I know, but it just felt more *honest* to me that the character should have to be responsible for some of the work! And no, I didn't also disable the auto attack feature, I may be eccentric but I'm not STUPID!!!

Anyway, now that I'm trained, I hit it all the time and my forage skill stays maxed out. Oh yeah, I also have backpacks FULL of cool free stuff!

I'm not saying that you (or anyone else) shouldn't use this kind of a shortcut... just that it didn't *feel* like it was the right thing for my character to do.

For what it's worth I also don't let him kill bear or wolves... And not just in the Glades or Qeynos Hills, I mean anywhere. Somehow it just wouldn't seem right if he did, but that's just me.

I did mine a bit different, which got my forage and tracking both up to 200 in just a short time for my lil blue Ranger.
My left and right movement keys are pointed at forage and track, so each time I move left it activates forage and each time I move right it activates track.

You just have to remember that this will carry through to all chars, so on others you may want to leave them blank so that is dosen't activate whatever is in those two positions.

Recla Halfling Ranger Level 52
(Seems like I have been 52 forever)

So, if I understand you correctly, you liked the original too, in fact it was your favorite, and you're gonna put it back up. You just needed a change?

Good, I'm glad we got that cleared up!!!

ROFL...When I posted, it didn't come up right away, so I thought that it didn't take. Well needless to say, 15 min. later, all 3 popped up. I edited the last two to say "Oops...triple post", but apparently, that didn't update right away either. Crazy, crazy forum Smiley: lol
